Candid eye contact street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. A different angle here as I randomly decided to point my camera over the side of the suspension bridge onto the walkway below, along the banks of the bonnie River Clyde. Yes I added a little fake blurring in the frame to try and get that slight tilt-shift look, the size of the paving slabs and the scale with the man tickled my sense of humour with that. Enjoy!

I promise I will not use M645 80/1.9 Sekor for another tilt/shift experiment. this was the best coverage I could get at F/4 and still was insufficient. Thus, I've lost control over light leaking...

we're here tilted and shifted. I tried to apply the fake tilt shift effect to this row of fruit. Not exactly what I expected, probably because I was already pretty close to take the shot. I think the technique is more effective on a bigger scene.

So here is another Frankfurt shot but today as a tilt-shift version. It was my intention to emphasize the bridge.

My first attempt at simulating the "tilt shift" effects but using Photoshop instead of the actual hardware of a special lens. I know, this isn't anything new, but I have been wanting to try this for some time. Basically, by tweaking the DoF in layers you create the effect of photographing a "miniature scene" with a very selective focus in one area of the photograph. This also makes me miss summer...we have lots of snow and deep freeze temperatures right now. Brrrr.

Die katholische Kirche St. Peter gehört mit ihrer reichhaltigen Rokokoausstattung im Innern zu den bedeutendsten Barockbauten in Mainz. Sie war ursprünglich Stiftskirche des seit dem 10. Jahrhundert bestehenden Stiftes St. Peter vor den Mauern und ist dem Apostel Petrus als Namenspatron geweiht.

Taken before we were asked to stop. The in-camera metering gets all wonky due to the intense vignetting of the lens at various tilt/shift/rotate/focus settings.

Here's my first attempt at tilt shift in photoshop. Quite enjoyed the process.

Nel 1894 si inaugura la Funicolare Como-Brunate, simbolo dello sviluppo dei trasporti pubblici di quel periodo, quando ogni centro della provincia era collegato con il comune capoluogo da una serie di linee di pubblico trasporto.

Era il periodo dello sviluppo industriale e dell'inizio di quello che sarebbe diventato il "Turismo di massa".

Nel 1911 viene cambiata la trazione che da vapore diventa elettrica.

Nel 1912 si installa il "cannone" che spara a salve ogni mezzogiorno (riattivato nel 1994 dopo quasi vent'anni di inutilizzo).

Negli anni 1934/35 l'impianto è completamente rinnovato, compreso il rifacimento ex novo della stazione di Brunate.

Nel 1951 si procede ad un ulteriore cambio delle vetture.

Alla fine degli anni '60, il trasporto individuale, tramite l'automobile, mette in crisi il trasporto pubblico, così come si era andato configurando nella seconda metà del XX secolo.

Negli anni '70 a Como, come in altre realtà del Paese, le aziende di trasporto pubblico private, non riescono più a contenere i disavanzi e, una dopo l'altra, entrano in crisi.

Gli enti locali comaschi (Comuni e Provincia) decidono di dare una risposta a tale situazione costituendo un Consorzio che gestisca le linee extraurbane della provincia di Como già in concessione alle aziende STECAV, SALVI, BARADELLO. GRATTONI e DELL'OCA.

Tale consorzio gestirà per un lungo periodo anche l’impianto della funicolare la cui proprietà,nel frattempo, a partire da 1981 era stata trasferita dalla Società Anonima Funicolare Como/Brunate, (il cui azionista di riferimento era il conte dott. Cesare Bonacossa) alla Regione Lombardia.

Nel corso del periodo di gestione in affidamento, il consorzio C.P.T. ha anche operato l’ adeguamento dell'impianto alle nuove esigenze di sicurezza e di tecnologia.

Dal luglio 2005 la gestione della Funicolare Como/Brunate viene infine affidata, a seguito dell’applicazione da parte del Comune di Como delle procedure di liberalizzazione per il comparto dei servizi pubblici di trasporto, ad una società mista con sede in Como (Consorzio Mobilità Funicolare & Bus) all’interno della quale il ruolo operativo di gestione del servizio della funicolare Como- Brunate è affidato all’ Azienda Trasporti Milanesi S.p.A.
