Experiment in tilt-shift effect on the picture of a car on fire in Brussels, for a blogpost at houbi.com/?p=623.

This was when bystanders and a police patrol that was in the neighbourhood tried to put out the fire. They only had a little bit of success when they pulled out the firehose from my office building onto the street. But the fire kept coming back. Then the firemen arrived.

The orginal picture (made with an Iphone btw) is this one.

The steps are as in this tutorial.

My first attempt at "Tilt-Shift" pictures. Will try to take more photos like this, so maybe the pictures could be better.

Tilt-shift lens long exposure

Real tilt shift lenses allow photographers to manipulate the focal plane of the lens in order to achieve different effects or to minimize things such as the unnatural look of a tall building when shot upwards from a low angle. One common use is to shoot from a high angle to achieve a miniaturized look.

I recently became aware of an online editing tool that mimics some of the features of a tilt shift lens and decided to give it a try. The image above was made with tiltshiftmaker.com/ from this original. Please view large for a better view.

While on the subject of tilt shift, this video by Keith Loutit is easily the coolest thing I have ever seen done with such a lens. I highly recommend checking it out; It's some super cool photography and a lot of fun too!

I like how the condensed perspective makes the elephant seem more "alive" than the tourists.

The theme this week was "tilt shift".

First time doing this.

I thought it was a little silly.

Had to search for higher ground and waited until the 11th hour.

So here it is.

One of the most beautiful Greek cities viewed from Palamidi, with a tilt shift effect.

After seeing some other Fake Tilt Shift pictures, I went to the tutorial followed the instructions and here I am. It turns out: I've Never taken that many scenery shots from above! I picked this one that I took in 1991.

Tilt-Shift 1-2

This is a picture of Trebah Garden I took using my Canon 600d & 18-55 STM lens, but then subsequently edited using a tilt-shift effect on my Lumia 640 smartphone, with Lumia Creative Studio.

Part of a set I shot a couple of years ago, using the HTS1.5 Tilt-Shift adaptor by Hasselblad.

The adaptor goes on the body of my H4, then you can attach any lens to it. 80mm becomes 120mm (about 75mm in full-frame DSLR world).

Tilt and shift available. If you rotate the adaptor, you can get shift and swing.

Shot handheld. I tend to find the tripod annoying when the movements are so fine to get focus. Whole rig weighs in at about 7kgs.
