Tilt-shift effect is a funny thing. You click the button and ta-dah, you get a curious miniature. So cool! :-)

I took the photo two days ago because this new week will be a rainy one here. I hope you don't mind...
I've seen quite a few tilt-shift experiments here on flickr lately, so I couldn't resist. Fooling around with Analog and Color Efex Pro...
thanks nick see for the suggestion! this is my first attempt at a tilt-shift fake, made from this photo. it's a little rough in a few spots if you look up close, but i'm pretty happy with how it turned out :)
300mm telephoto shot taken from the top of the U.S. Bank Tower in downtown Los Angeles. Manual Tilt Shift effect added in Photoshop Elements.
Its was SOOC until photoshop tweaked the saturation added a vignette created an inverted ellipse selection with a feathered edge and pulled out a massive lens blur... Oh yeah I cropped it for good measure too. But the light painting was done in frame and in the same exposure.
I played around with tilt shift done by the Edge 80 Optic on a Lensbaby Composer Pro that my wife & friends had given me on my last birthday. I like the results, sweet stuff & very special. Have to try it on a portrait session or wedding. Thx, guys!

It was a dark and stormy night during our river cruise on the Rhone River, but I put on my hooded raincoat so that I could go out and walk along the pretty harbor in Tournos. Not many other people out there at that time of night, though it does look like there is a party going on in that boat with the golden light!
An attempt at the Tilt-Shift style of photo. This pair of motors was located in Eddyville, IA on the BNSF local job.

Photographed and enhanced with tilt-shifting last year during low tide, the Itsukushima Shrine (厳島神社), is a Shinto shrine on the island of Itsukushima (popularly known as Miyajima). It is in the city of Hatsukaichi in Hiroshima Prefecture in Japan. The shrine complex is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Japanese government has designated several buildings and possessions as National Treasures. Every day the water floods the whole torii gate and it appears to be floating.
