What an exceptional experience to see the celebrity Peregrine Falcon of Sacramento NWR at such close range!! Shot through my sunroof.
Good Sunday morning everyone and hope a great weekend was had by all and that your team wins the play-offs.
This is the same bird after changing position and a much better pose and image.
Tomorrow will start my Reddish Egret Series, sorry.
A much copied view through the support piers at the Ouse Valley Viaduct in Sussex, UK. Using a fish eye lens but with the distortion corrected. I usually prefer the curved image but, in this case, I think it gives a better perspective.
In this haunting landscape the viewer is drawn into a twisted path flanked by grotesque, gnarled trees. The road winds through an eerie forest, where each tree appears to writhe in silent agony, their twisted forms creating a claustrophobic tunnel of shadows. The oppressive atmosphere is palpable, as if the very air is thick with the weight of forgotten sorrows and lost souls. The monochromatic palette enhances the sense of desolation, transforming the scene into a surreal nightmare.

Union Pacific's MRONY 22 manifest freight ascends the 2% grade through the horseshoe above Gilluly, Utah the morning of Aug. 22, 2008. In seven additional miles, the train will stop at Soldier Summit, and the manned helpers will be cut out of the train, running light to Helper Yard where they will tie up.
We just had the heaviest rain I have seen for a long time.
I wasn't going to venture out so I shot this through the front door keyhole.
My poor roses took a bit of a battering though
Sunrise from Thetis Lake Regional Park, Victoria, Canada
Hong and I took a morning hike to a spot that overlooked Thetis lake and watched the sunrise through the trees.
A quit moment in the forest with autumn light breaking through the trees. A reminder that September is the best month to capture sunbeams with still green hues.

And now I know what they're saying
It's a terrible beauty we've made
So we make our love on wasteland
And through the barricades

California towhee
While this is a common rather dull bird in California and the photo is not stellar, I couldn't help but post this as it is a perfect demonstration of the phrase "jumping through hoops".
From a few years back. Our ubiquitous forest friends, who come check us out through our glass door every night, and then raid our bird feeders for the day's leftovers.
This one came during the day... probably a pregnant female who couldn't wait for nightfall.
Standing in front of my mirror
And everything seems to be wrong
All I see is a pale, ugly woman
Too tired to do anything against it
You turn up and lead me back on my way
Because I went astray
You just treat me like a princess
And I start to feel like it
If I could see me through your eyes
If I could touch me with your hands
If I could smell me with your nose
What would I be like?
On these days when everything seems to be wrong
I'd like to know what you think when you look at me
What do you see?
'Cause when I look at you, you seem to be perfect,
I don't deserve you it?s so hard to believe
That you are really in love with me....♥
"Passing through, passing through.
Sometimes happy, sometimes blue,
Glad that I ran into you.
Tell the people that you saw me passing through."
This song suddenly resonated in my mind when I was processing several images of this Blue-billed Duck, remembering how he was hurrying past me last month in Braeside. "Passing Through" is a folk song written by Dick Blakeslee and recorded by Pete Seeger and later covered by many artists. I still have Cisco Houston's LP and his version was playing in my mind.
Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!
Today is an orange day at Color my World Daily and the theme at Crazy Tuesday is A Picture Through. We have a picture through my glasses. We had (the whole family) an appointment at the eye doctor this weekend so this picture is highly topical. I love wearing glasses and I’m highly addicted to very bold frames. The bigger, the better especially if you have to hide huge designer bags under your eyes (that is my case !!) ! So yes, my glasses are big, thick and very black. And I have many different frames. Yes, I hoard glasses… I hope you will like my picture and I hope it will be accepted for this challenge !!
Mucho, mucho amor for you my friends !! Have a beautiful day !!!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!! And see you soon on Flickr !
This evening's view with sundown and new snow on the lake as a distant family fish. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
IT WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYS, when nothing was happening, we all have them, was sitting in the hide, waiting, and willing this tufty to swim past this area of reeds that was being highlighted by a brief show of sun, which also meant it had to go past the hide, eventually it took a mad rush, hence the large wake of water, and luckily, managed to capture this one. THANK YOU SO MUCH, for your visit, and continued support, life is a bit hectic at the moment, and I know it sounds a bit selfish, but have only time to comment on those who post a comment, it may take a few weeks to get back to normal, please be patient with me!

Southern Pacific SD40M-2 No. 8697 leads the ROHPC through Spanish Fork Canyon east of Rio, Utah on Feb. 5, 1995. SP 8697 was built CNW SD45 No. 920 in March 1970.
My second shot from Friday evening at the Tamar Bridge.
At this time of year when the sun sets further north, it shines through the gap in the first "arch" of the Tamar Bridge as it sets. So, zooming in I opted for a closer composition of the two bridges.
It's a really lovely sight to see and a perfect place to watch the sunset, with views looking down to the River Tamar and Saltash on the Cornwall Side.
