If you want an explanation, please see the following shot taken at the same time. This guy wrote up a good read, now I don't have to.

Work smarter, not harder. Let your friends do the tough part.
I photographed the wave in the Canary Islands. Back at home, I photographed the image through a single water droplet on the end of a pine needle..

Just before I set out to make the probably foolish mistake of trying to chase UP 4014 through Chicagoland, here it is with 844, a couple months ago on its first real outing, charging through the hamlet of Hanna, Wyoming on UP's main to Ogden, Utah.
My attempt at the "Flickr Friday" theme "Through".
Shot with a Steinheil "Cassar-S 50 mm F 2.8" on a Canon EOS R5.
I got a magnifying glass which has also got a light in it.

Hunstanton Lighthouse through St Edmund's Chapel.
St Edmund was born into the Wuffing family (Wuffa was the old English word for a wolf) and was the last of that dynasty which had ruled the Kingdom of East Anglia for over 200 years. He landed in Hunstanton in 855 A.D., and since then Hunstanton has had a long and close association with St Edmund.
Old Hunstanton Lighthouse is a former lighthouse located in Old Hunstanton in the English county of Norfolk. It was built at the highest point available on this part of the coast, on top of Hunstanton Cliffs and served to help guide vessels into the safe water of Lynn Deeps. Although the present lighthouse was built in 1840, there had been a lighthouse on the site since the 17th century (prior to which a light to aid navigation may have been displayed from St Edmund's Chapel, the ruins of which stand nearby).
This will be the next to last of the Eagle Series folks and am sorry if the images became to redundant, but we rarely see them them here, so I tend to over do the shooting, so tomorrow it's over and done.
Thank you all so very much for visiting, and your patience, and have a great day.

Tuesday afternoon I spent a little time exploring the dunes on Lake Michigan's western shore. It was a part of Kohler-Andrae State Park that was uncrowded.
Of branches, but oh so cool...
Could not believe that we finished the day with this character. Love these birds.

MAWA makes their way west behind Pan Am's 3 varieties of GP40's with about 50 cars in tow. With spring finally arriving it means greenery but also, unfortunately, the arrival of black flies.
A regular winter visitor to our local park.

The area around the Mr Visserplein is one of the most air-polluted zones of Amsterdam. Moreover, once you cross the Valkenburgerstraat towards the Plantage - which is green again - there's an unbroken grayish concrete wall of buildings and pavement across from the Portuguese Synagogue...
But even here nature forces her way through cracks and fissures. If you've an eye for them there are many hardy plants that have found light for example between the horizontal pavement and the vertical walls. One of them is this delightful Sisymbrium officinale, Hedge Mustard.
Down through the ages it's been used for various ailments, most notably in an infusion against throat ache. Hence this Sisymbrium is also known as Singer's Plant. Perhaps I should try it sometime to thwart the scratchy throat caused by exhaust fumes.
