I was at Clapham Junction to photograph this location during sunset but the day had been wet and grey. I looked all around and decided that the photo opportunities were over so i packed my camera away and started for my hotel. As i checked over my shoulder i noticed that the Thames City complex was bright pink, initially i thought it was artificial lighting but a gap in the clouds had allowed the bright pink in the sky to be reflected off the glass frontage. I immediatly got my camera out and started taking shots not knowing how long this phenomina would last. Well it lasted a total of 6 minutes in which time i took this shot of two 701 units approaching the Junction.

The route from Redhill to Tonbridge is virtually straight all the way. Yesterday evening it was closed as a result of a major signal failure near Redill, meaning I had to cycle back from Leigh instead of putting my bike on the train as planned. During the ride the sun set and I grabbed this shot near Penshurst.

The headlights of the S-Bahn train illuminate the curving rails to its front; the light from the station platform permeates the track bed to the right; and two red-aspect signals are reflected in blood-red rails. A solitary person stands on the platform. Away from the cold comfort of the railway station the light fades to black nothingness.
