I prefer it when I have time to think about the outfit I'm going to wear for the day. Sometimes, I just grab the first thing that comes to hand, but today I worked it all out which makes the outfit more pleasurable to wear :-)

I think some days we can all identify with Dave.

" “Dave” as it is affectionately known, was painted by Tabby on the 27th November 2018. Using spray paint and stencils, this piece was one of three works which went up on Tabby’s 2nd visit to Carlisle. Tabby commented “This was a really fun piece to create as we hid in plain sight completing this piece at night while the bar was open, there were actually people sitting on the table directly on the other side of the wall with no idea!” The video below shows how street artists often hide in plain sight … even the police sometimes miss them! This piece is a great example of Tabby’s trademark use of humor in his art and a reminder that art, especially that seen in the public domain while going around one’s daily business doesn’t always have to have a strong message and can simply be fun and have a soul purpose of raising a smile… You have got to feel sorry for Dave though right? "

I left soul as is, though I did want to correct to sole :-)

Think we’re gonna have a chocolate overload for a while!

My lips are dry. I let the fine, cool sand run through my fingers like water. Desert wherever I turn my eyes. Not a breath of wind. Not a sound. Silence over the earth. Silence in heaven. Silence within me. I breathe in. I breathe out. I am here. Entirely here. Now! In this moment, it is as if scales fall from my eyes: I have arrived at the center of the universe. Then I remember all the places in which that was true: Scotland, Norway, Mongolia, New Mexico . . . But the geography is a minor detail. Ultimately, it is not about special places. When one is traveling—and in some sense we are journeying throughout our lives—it is about moments in which the passage of time seems suddenly arrested. Everything I think I have to be and do, everything I am seeking and even the things in which I have failed—all that falls away in such moments. I feel altogether naked. But I am. Entirely. Here. As if from nothing, the silence within me begins to speak, softly, inaudibly. People appear around me, the living and those long dead. Encounters that have shaped me come to life. Joyful and painful, delightful and disappointing—everything is transparent to this single moment.

i think some of us need to learn the meaning of gratitude.

a please and/or thank you can really go a long way.

just saying.

now i have to stress out about a final this coming monday and try to find as much study time as i can.

oh and have i mentioned that this summer i am going to die taking a 6 week course in one of the most hardest bio classes ever?

well dear summer,

i hope you end quickly.

and this is one of the many photos i took of my friend theresa when we went on a photo shoot.

i need more time for those...which reminds me, i have a ton of photos i still need to upload on here.

speaking of photo shoots, i got to take pictures of this fashion show at UCI for one of my friend's roommate. it was actually pretty cool, but i felt a bit lame against all these other people with better lenses and flashes...

i need to fix that.

Think I'd best give these a break for now...

He seems a bit down, maybe he doesn't care for the moss toupee.

I think sometime last year, I lost a lot of myself. I was angry, depressed and/or resentful about 98% of the time. It didn't really go away when I entered 2013 but it is getting considerably better. I find that actions do in fact speak louder than words, though.

Have you upset or hurt anyone in the past year? Did you fix it? My advice to you: even if you don't like the person, and even if you feel as though you deserve something back from them, let go of all that. Lose that pride, it won't help you anymore. Tell them you're sorry. Because at the end of the day, you and the person you dislike could be polar opposites, but anyone's day could be made upon them receiving a phone call with the speaker saying "I'm sorry." on the other line.

2013 will be the year I fix myself, and I mean really fix myself. I am not perfect but the hate that runs through my veins feels like a virus I have been too stubborn to cure, until now.

I've been wanting to do this one since i started this project, and i suppose this is the perfect day.

I think that the picture speaks for itself, the solution is in our hands, its easy, just demands a bit of responsibility from all of us.

THINK

I think its been ages since i posted something here. Was caught up with an endless chain of problems, but i think, now things are settling down a lil bit.

Anyway this pic was taken during my trip to a place called "kava" near Malambuzha. Just experimented with the metering mode and this was the end product. NO post processing done :)

I think that this is Andrena scotica. I should have realised more quickly that it was likely to be stylopised (parasitised by a strepsipteran fly) as it was not behaving normally. It was sitting in the sun in the open and didn't fly away when I approached. I put my finger in front of it and it climbed on.

I noticed the slightly swollen abdomen as I photographed it, and guessed the situation. I was able to position my finger to see the bee's rear end and there was the parasite protruding. I got a couple of shots before she flew off.

This is an adult female Stylops parasite. They look more like a flattened larva and have no eyes, legs or antennae. They do not leave the bee. The males (even though of bizarre appearance) are more typical and emerge from the bee and fly of looking for another stylopised bee so that they can mate with the female parasite.

The Thinker is perhaps the best known of all Rodin's sculptures. The concentration and the tension of this thinker, rendered universal in his nudity, constitutes a compelling symbol of hope and of faith in mankind.

The Thinker is 71.5 cms high. It was first exhibited in 1888. It was transported with its pedestal to the gardens of the Hotel Biron in 1923.

Between Les Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, The Thinker sits atop his pillar among the box trees, facing The Gates of Hell on the other side of the garden (designed in 1920 after the demolition of the outbuildings that once bordered the Hôtel Biron).

Rodin would first make a clay model, when he was satisfied, he would turn it over to a moulder who would make a first plaster cast. Later he could make changes on the plaster or enlarge the model through a mechanical process. Then he could go on to execute it in marble or cast in in bronze by a foundry. Hence there could be more one size or medium of the same sculpture.

I think I could marry this thing

Designed in 1945 and introduced to service in 1948, Saladin is a very capable rifle. Feeding from 20-rounder magazines, and using the Czech 7.62x45mm round, it was very loosely based on the AK-47's system, even though it barely resembles the rifle both internally and externally. It is able to mount a bayonet and a scope, the latter which fits the rifle very well, as it was surprisingly accurate for Altayi standards. It has a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute.

Entering service just in the middle of a time of border conflicts, it was quickly baptized by fire, and proved to be very effective against Soviet troops. Essentially being able to beat the AK-47 in every category but capacity (which could be improved to a capacity of 35 rounds by a field modification!), and proved to be the favorite of soldiers. Even though it has recently started service, it has already gained a fanbase of sorts, and will likely stay in service for a long, long time.
