Magpies have always given me problems. If the light wasn't perfect I could count on getting no details from this bird. Today was overcast and gray but when this bird just landed on this mullein a stone's throw away I knew I had a golden opportunity. I had time for a short burst and not even a chance to zoom out before the bird was gone. It was like Maggie was having some compassion late this September before leaving.
This little one keeps me on my toes more than any other. Quinn is starting to look more and more like a girl and more and more like a little person EVERY DAY!! It amazes me!
I think this is a ring-necked duck (M) but I am not sure. I need "Birdfessionals" to verify it, but for now I call it a ring-necked duck.

You'd think with all the rain we've had I'd be so fed up I wouldn't bother with this but I like trying to capture moving water! And yes it was raining! Its a small fountain of water bubbling up through a large rock in a lovely secluded arbour a few yards from a fairly busy area.

Sometimes I get completely bamboozled by having so many images of Jojo to choose from, I almost give up and think of how much time I'm wasting and just decide in the end to just use anything. I must admit it's a lovely feeling when I see the first image that comes along and think that will do fine and especially if it is one I haven't posted before. I'm sure the guys won't mind either as I seem rather popular when I'm wearing one of my high-leg teddys.
I didn't iron the details because I'm not sure if I'm satisfeid!
If you want to see, I posted 4 pictures before this one, with some differences in the front trees, in the VW Van, and is some windows.
Is there one of them that you liked more, dear partner?

I think we all have at least two families - the one we were born to, and the one we chose or made for ourselves.
And it's kind of neat when the two come together.
Like now. My biological family is going through some difficulties. And my Flickr family is here for me. Not unlike Echo and Willow, the non-biological sisters who are closer to each other than to any of their littermates.
Anyway... thank you thank you thank you Flickr friends. Big hugs. Y'all are great.
I think only people with young kids that live nearby know his object exist. I never heard of this place before. I saw a picture of it , taken by an Hungarian photographer. When I was "in the neighborhood" earlier this month I knew I wanted to do a blue hour-shot. I really like those odd looking creations.

The Tree Of Milarrochy
I was having a look through some old files while having a clear out and found this unprocessed raw file from just over five years ago. I remember that afternoon well, it was a couple of days after Christmas and a stop on Loch Lomond at this famous wee tree. I think at the time I was worried the image looked too much, but the colours were so intense at the time and only a few minutes after this was taken we were getting soaked in a heavy rain shower.
With the image being 5 years old it was taken on the Canon 5DMKII I had at the time.

I am not kidding you; mummified crocodiles are a thing.
I saw one in the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden. Most cartoonish artifact I ever saw! (see image in first reaction).
I am quite pleased with my wrapped Lego crocomummy!
Think I am being stalked, everything I go to the pub I bump into this one.
It's my legs that does it.
I got up to go to the bar, and I could feel eyes upon me watching every step. Then who should I find beside me saving me from being undressed further by the many male eyes looking at me. Actually, it might have been the barmaid they were looking at she was rather pretty.
Yesterday marked this season's first Dog Days in the Garden, when the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden allows you to bring your dog on Saturday mornings. Jasper had a great time, walking 2.5 miles (~4km) and remaining peppy the whole time. He met many other dogs and collected many complements from humans we encountered. This is an iPhone shot because I had my bird lens on. Jasper wouldn't look at me or my wife because he fancied one of the garden's docents standing nearby. He would not take his eyes off of her, especially after she came up and gave him a pet and paid him compliments. All I can think is that he was lovestruck.
