How I'm spending this snowy Saturday. I always thin my lugs, but this customer asked if I would make them as thin as possible. This lug doesn't look super thin in these pics, but compare it to the other lug that you can see in one of the images... I just hope that the painter can put the paint on thin enough that the shore lines don't just disappear.

Thin layer chromatography plate spotted with several UV active compounds run in an ethyl acetate system then placed under a UV light at 254 nm. Good times.
This craftsman was using a very fine saw to cut names out of thin plywood. He didn't use any templates or other equipment except his own expert hand and eye co-ordination. He was fascinating to watch.
Very tiny pinkish-purple flowers in clusters. It has thin dark-green foliage - almost like long, sparse, spindly rosemary.
Alas, I have no idea what kind of flower this is. The iPhone also didn't know when I took a more zoomed out view of the cluster.

Thin oatmeal buttermilk pancakes (crepes) filled with cottage cheese, folded in envelopes, served with homemade maple-pecan granola. I ate this stack, reverent, savouring each bite. Oh pancakes. How I love them! No matter what kind of recipe I use, they make every morning so much better!
Thin pieces of tinned steel were cut to shape, edges smoothed, soldered to the original Six-16 tensioners.
I finally have a solution that will operate the film-driven frame counter in a 1940 Kodak Monitor Six-16, modified for 120 film.
Toward the end of the first real test roll with this system, winding became very difficult. I suspect 2 possible causes: either the rubber pad binds on the take-up roll as it becomes fatter, or the 120 feed spool is binding because it is not on pins or because the untrimmed spool flanges are rubbing against the feed chamber.

Thin Lizzie 2016 live on stage at Ramblin' Man Fair in Mote Park, Maidstone. The line up for this show was Ricky Warwick - lead vocals,acoustic guitar,
Scott Gorham - guitar,
Damon Johnson - guitar
Tom Hamilton - bass guitar (Aerosmith), Scott Travis - drums, Darren Wharton - keyboards. They were joined for 4 songs by Midge Ure (Ultravox) who had toured with Lizzie on a 1979 US tour.
The set was a tribute to Phil Lynott 30 years to the day after his death from alcohol poisoning and included Jailbreak, Boys are Back in Town, Thunder & Lightning, Dancing in the Moonlight, Rosalie, Cowboy Song, Chinatown, Killer on the Loose and a great crowd singalong of Whiskey in the Jar. Lizzie were second on the bill, but blew Whitesnake off the stage, as these guys can still cut it whereas Coverdale & co certainly cannot.
Day 72 of the 365 days challenge.
Fun fact: Copper and titanium do not taste good. Even in super-thin "leaf" form.

Habitat: alpine valley, mixed forest edge, dominant Fagus sylvatica, Picea abies, Ostrya carprinifolia, Fraxinus ornus, Fraxinus excelsior, Corylus avellana, modestly southeast inclined mountain slope, calcareous ground (overgrown old scree, rock and boulders), limestone bedrock, relatively dry and warm place, partly sunny, exposed to direct rain, average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 7-9 deg C, elevation 600 m (1.950 feet), alpine phytogeographical region.
Substratum: dead, thin, very small piece of Picea abies branch loosely lying on rocky ground.
Place: Lower Trenta valley, near 'Na Melu' place, between villages Soča and Trenta, East Julian Alps, Posočje, Slovenia EC
Comments: This seems to be a rare observation. There are more than 30 species in Genus Lachnellula, which are not easy to determine to species level. By luck L. splendens has unique spores, so I hope my determination is correct. Lachnellulas seem to be associated with Larix decidua canker and therefore an economically important genus.
Growing in a group of four fruit bodies on a single small branch. I have been trying hard to find some more fruit bodies, but with no success. Pileus diameter 1.2 (SD = 0.3) mm, n = 4, hairs length: 117 (SD = 23) micr., n = 6.
Spores smooth with many small oil drops. Dimensions: 28.9 (SD = 2.3) x 6.4 (SD = 0.5) micr., Q = 4.53 (SD = 0.5), n = 30. Asci dimensions: 145.6 (SD = 11.8) x 15.2 (SD = 1.6) micr., n = 12, with thin apical thickening. Paraphyses width: 1.9 (SD = 0.2) micr. (minimum) and 4.7 (SD = 0.5) micr. (at the apex), n = 12. Olymus CH20, Olympus NEA40x/0.65, 400x and Olympus NEA 10x/0.25, 100 x (hairs), in water. AmScope MA500 digital camera.

This evocative, scarab-shaped pendant pairs my original imagery of "ghostly girls" with sleek vinyl and a beautiful Antique Brass Clock Gear.
This daring piece was designed using imagery based on my original mixed-media artwork from the "Follow The Leader" series. This series was inspired by vintage wallpaper from the 1970's and features a sassy and spooky kickline of girl spirit inspired by my favorite nursery wallpaper.
Personally handcrafted out of Antique Brass, Vinyl and U/V sealed, Dura-Brite® printed, acid-free cardstock with a Polymer Satin Lacquer protective coating. The process yields sturdy, yet deliciously flexible "petals" of imagery.
