Batman on Black

Taken near Time Square in the early evening......after a hard day of keeping the city safe for the Commissioner, Batman takes a much needed break.....:-))))

Window Wednesday

I took this from the Staten Island Ferry. This was taken right after Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast and you can see the Freedom Tower still under construction!

Late night Pershing Square, NYC is quite beautiful without the crowds. Got to enjoy these moments.

on our last day in New York it rained and rained, i wanted to get a rats eye shot of the bridge and it wasn't until the film was developed that i realised that i had the reflection in the shot.

oh and this one is for lomoD XX, who told me to post it last night in the pub. so here you are.

Make a space

For my body.

Dig a hole.

Push the sides apart.

This is what

I'm controlling.

It's a moat

The inside that I carve.

The picture is taken from inside the clock in front of the Grand Central façade facing 42nd Street. The clock contains the world's largest example of Tiffany glass and is surrounded by sculptures of Minerva, Hercules, and Mercury. The sculptures were designed by French sculptor Jules-Felix Coutan.

The metropolis that is New York. See it mega big here

I was hoping to upload my latest tutorial, although didn't get a chance to complete it. It will be a walkthrough on the Times Square image, as I received a lot of emails and requests from people asking about the workflow and process it went through. It concentrates more on the Photoshop processing, rather than Photomatix, although the HDR steps are included. Watch out for that later this week.

Empire State building, the Vessel literally stuck in the middle

If the world can manage and live by these four letters how devine and beautiful the world can be. Funny it's not impossible....

Though they were at the airport as Mona Lisa smiles. Some people just travel with way too much luggage

Famous Washington St. with it's iconic view of the Manhattan Bridge, and if not for one of the unsung brilliant Mayor's of NYC D.Dinkins this Bridge would have been in the river.

But historic pov, streets called Washington St. for at the waters bank at streets end G.W made his retreat to Manhattan with his troops to keep fighting for another day. As a true leader he ferried on the last boat to Independence of a nation.

A glacial Erratic remnant of the last ice age, Central Park was never developed so the geological time pieces remain where they were left. interesting these rocks are not native to the area (hence name Erratic), but some 1000 miles away, quite mind-boggling.

A visitor from Northern Canada, decided to chill in Central Park.

Happy New Year Everyone.. !!

Like a comet

Blazing 'cross the evening sky

Gone too soon

Like a rainbow

Fading in the twinkling of an eye

Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly

And splendidly bright

Here one day

Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight

On a cloudy afternoon

Gone too soon

Like a castle

Built upon a sandy beach

Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower

That is just beyond your reach

Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight

Here one day

Gone one night

Like a sunset

Dying with the rising of the moon

Gone too soon

The Big Apple is a bakery, restaurant and roadside attraction in the community of Colborne, part of the municipality of Cramahe, Northumberland County in Central Ontario, Canada, a driving distance of approximately 135 kilometres (84 mi) eastward from downtown Toronto. It is located on the south side of Ontario Highway 401 at interchange 497 (Northumberland County Road 25/Percy Street) and is easily recognizable from the highway by its huge apple-shaped structure, claimed to be the world's largest.

With a height of 10.7 metres (35 ft) and diameter of 11.6 metres (38 ft), the Big Apple features an observation deck.

The site also features a petting zoo, a complimentary miniature golf course, and other amenities.

In midst my busy month, I managed to squeeze a visit to the city that never sleeps. I gotta say its one of the most amazing places I have ever visited and can't wait to go back there.

Needless to say its a very photogenic city, so to start off this new set, here is an image which you will probably have seen a million times before, buts its grandeur and splendour will never cease to amaze.
