Lady Liberty, a icon of the United States. First sight people saw when arriving to the Americans as well as the first sight troops saw when returning from the Wars, also the last sight of many troops when leaving to Europe to defend her meaning.
La Liberté éclairant le monde, this copper-clad beauty of freedom, a gift to the United States from the people of France, to honor the alliance during the American Revolution. Designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, its metal framework was built by the famous engineer Gustave Eiffel. The statue was dedicated on October 28, 1886. Viva la 🇫🇷
Woolworth Building, one of the first skyscrapers in NYC. Up to 1930 was tallest Building in the world.
The Views of the city from New Jersey are second to none. This is from the Hoboken waterfront. I'm doing round two of NJ tonight with a long time flickr friend Ready Aim Click.
A NYC classic the neon Pepsi sign, originally on top of Pepsi bottling plant in LIC, installed in the early 40s. Than moved a block down to the East River water front. Due to political BS (Zoning laws), and gentrification of my childhood city.

Taken near Time Square in the early evening......after a hard day of keeping the city safe for the Commissioner, Batman takes a much needed break.....:-))))

I took this from the Staten Island Ferry. This was taken right after Hurricane Sandy hit the east coast and you can see the Freedom Tower still under construction!
A little Italy on Mulberry St, trying to find a worth Sfogliatella... Still elusive, but one place; and it's not in Manhattan.
But fantastic new lighting paying tribute to a classic, and world famous Italian pop song from the late 50's Nel blu, dipinto di blu, simply known as Volare.
Finally, faintly in the distance through the trees is the spire mooring mast of the Empire State bldg
Make a space
For my body.
Dig a hole.
Push the sides apart.
This is what
I'm controlling.
It's a moat
The inside that I carve.
The picture is taken from inside the clock in front of the Grand Central façade facing 42nd Street. The clock contains the world's largest example of Tiffany glass and is surrounded by sculptures of Minerva, Hercules, and Mercury. The sculptures were designed by French sculptor Jules-Felix Coutan.

The metropolis that is New York. See it mega big here
I was hoping to upload my latest tutorial, although didn't get a chance to complete it. It will be a walkthrough on the Times Square image, as I received a lot of emails and requests from people asking about the workflow and process it went through. It concentrates more on the Photoshop processing, rather than Photomatix, although the HDR steps are included. Watch out for that later this week.

The Vessel at Hudson Yards finally reopened to the public at the end of October 2024 after three long years. I finally got a chance to visit this New York City gem for some night photography. At night, this landmark turns into something out of some futuristic, sometimes alien, science fiction dream.

A glacial Erratic remnant of the last ice age, Central Park was never developed so the geological time pieces remain where they were left. interesting these rocks are not native to the area (hence name Erratic), but some 1000 miles away, quite mind-boggling.
A visitor from Northern Canada, decided to chill in Central Park.
