No, no, I did not post this image because I'm longing for spring. On the contrary. I hope it'll be a loooong winter and spring still far far away :-).

But I've been busy today spending most of the day with working through the first 5 lessons of Kim Klassen's self paced e-course "skinny" Photoshop class, finally learning those basic PSE functions! And one of the assignments was to create a "dreamy tulip" image, so I dug out this tulip spring shot.

My, I learned so much today and I can't wait to go on with the class. It seems like this course just offers all the stuff I've been longing to learn! I just wish I had another 2 weeks holiday ahead of me!

This image is actually a couple of years old. I was never really happy with the treatment , so I reprocessed it for part 2 of the Smithville Water Tower Trilogy. If I didn't include this one, I would only have 2 shots of the water tower and then I couldn't call it a trilogy. It sounds so much better than just a pair.

I am loving these Michelle Black actions~so much fun to play with!!!

I'm painting some of my exterior doors and trim and did some scraping ahead of time. This door had thick heavy paint, but below it was the bare wood showing the saw marks on the old wood. The bright green was the color when we bought the house.

My last seagull pic prompted a few questions about textures and which ones I'm using, so I thought I'd post another shot of my "kitchen."

You can see that I'm actually using three textures, and two to three layers of each, which I've blended in and out using masks and various overlay modes.

The post processing on this one got pretty extensive - about 24 layers (including 8 texture layers, 3 high-pass layers, and 9 adjustment layers). Fun!! :)

I took a random close-up of my hand while photographing bats. I'm all textured! Best viewed large.
