NATURAL TEXTURE is the topic for Thursday 11 October 2012.
Lots of subjects to choose from today, but this was my final choice. The dahlias are loving the cooler weather and are lasting a lot longer into the season than normal.
The morning sun was just behind this one so it was the chosen one.
A couple of the close seconds are below in the comments section.
You can use it in your creative works. Just remember to cite the origin of the texture.

I don't like flashy awards, since they're mostly given because of an obligation to stupid group rules. If you got something to say, say it in your own words and not by copying and pasting. I don't follow such rules, so if you have the sweaper running, don't even bother to invite me please. As of now the flashy awards will be removed, no offence!
Ready for framing.
Border here from picnik for display.
I enjoyed the different textures of fabric, Mulberry Bark, yarns, threads, silk & viscose ribbon, beads, crochet chains, and stitching.

Another view of Stonehenge, Wiltshire. Made 'mysterious' with the help of a texture from Nancee art.

Over the past couple of days, the sky has been insane! I just want to reach up and grab some clouds.
Since I use a lot of textures, I decided to start doing some of my own. Feel free to use them, but please link back to me if you do. Thanks!

The larger C. viridis is seen here with C. vibex, and both are known as tortoise beetles. Colour, shape of the rear corner of the pronotum, elytral texture and punctuation are all useful in determination of species.
C. viridis (9mm) was collected by sweeping, whilst C.vibex (6mm) was found on knapweed, both in rough grassland near Bath.

This week's post for Totally Texture Tuesday!
This was my favorite grain elevator that I found on a day trip to Abilene last Fall. It is also the only one that is no longer in operation. I love all the "artifacts of function" that are hanging off of this place. Texture added in iPiccy.
