this is a few months old... nabbed it with my point and shoot... was working on breaking out of my rut and also learning textures... wish I could get smaller dof with my point and shoot, but no dice... have to try and fake it after the fact in PS. Not too realistic, as gaussian blur doesn't seem to look much like real bokeh... didn't want to post it before because it's not that good, but what the heck... i'm still learning, and i'll keep working at making better images.

Photographed on a foggy morning, this tree stood in the middle of a K-Mart parking lot. A lot more color than I normally like in a textured photograph but it seems to work somehow. For a photo challenge this week, I used my smartphone to take photos looking straight down at my subject. I found this resulted in some interesting lines, shapes, and textures versus an emphasis on the object itself.
