Met up with Brent / Jeff / Matthew & Aaron and headed out to Whale Beach this morning..

I managed to have the video running from this location as Brent was capturing the flow over the rocks.

He got absolutely hammered by a wave going right over the top of him.

All equipment survived...

Check out Live Video Footage of this location...

Sony A7r + Cosina Voigtländer 50mm Nokton f/1.1

I am fortunate enough to be lent this amazing equipment for a week.

Although if I do jump on the mirrorless bandwagon I will opt for the Nokton f/1.5 due to its smaller size.

I think so far, this shot has impressed me most. The A7r can most certainly create a beautiful image, sharp and full of pop. The Voigtlander glass renders colour and texture amazingly. It reminds me of shooting Kodak Ektar film. But cleaner due to being digital.

better on black

more sps to come as I prepare to commemorate another year older later this month.

it's part of my grieving process. bear with me.

I 've heard that there would be a new sequel of Indiana Jones starring Harrison Ford again. Perhaps they should consider this location for filming.

Joking aside, these volcanic degassing pipes are pretty fragile as they were mostly made out of tightly compressed volcanic ashes. When I walked among them, there were small stones dropped upon my head from the cliff ceiling. I then realized that the whole ceiling could collapse anytime soon as I could see evidence on some sections of the cliff. I did take a peek at that chamber on the right. The degassing pipes spread further in there. However, I ventured no further.

Thanks to the drought in California, I would not have been able to walk among these degassing pipe columns as they were under the water at least a few years ago based on some online photos I saw. I felt like I was Indiana Jones.

metal textures

I've been meaning to upload this one for a while, after this part came back to my attention. It has such a nice texture in this orientation.

This has been retouched to remove the molding pips.
