From a boardwalk over a geyser field in Yellowstone National Park, you can see the abstract artistry of Mother Nature. The interaction of scalding hot water, laden with minerals, and the extremophile microorganisms that live in this harsh environment, combine to create breathtaking beauty.

I am very pleasantly surprised at the number of positive comments this upload received. It is my very first 'public' showing of work with textures - a technique that I find that only few can do really well. Thank you all.

I have started a Gallery showing examples of such work

Texture by Boccacino.

Part of an 8-ft tall brick tower supporting a fairly good sized flower planter.

Those salt deposits on the surface of the bricks are the result of a natural process called efflorescence (the word comes from the French "to flower out"). That kinda makes this a total flower-power tower, eh?

Tree bark up close and personal.
