"Happy 48th Birthday Singapore"

Taken at the National Day Parade (NDP) rehearsal on 20 July 2013.

Did a rather extensive Photoshop composite of various photos shot at varying settings at the platform in front of the "Wonder Full" Laser Show @ Marina Bay Sands. As this image turned out to have lots of negative space on the top right corner, I might as well turn it into a la editorial piece and added text design on it. So this would be a center-fold 2 page spread image, with deliberate negative space in the middle for the page gutter.

PS: Pardon the stark contrast, had to enhance the sharpness greatly, as I made the mistake of not checking the focus after switch from portrait to landscape while shooting the series of images and have accidentally moved the focus ring, drats! Another lesson to be learnt...

Extremely rare sighting of a person texting while walking.

My neice got a "Sidekick" for Christmas. It's a toy phone shaped just like the Sidekick phone, that allows her to "text". She's waiting for me to respond to her text.

Back in my day, we had walkie talkies- guess they have been kicked to the curb with new technology- texting instead of talking

1. Millenium e Grand Park

2. Buckingham Memorial Fountain / Lake Michigan

3. Navy Pier

4. Lincoln Park Zoo

5. The Art Institute of Chicago

6. Willow Church Chicago

7. The Museum of Science and Industry

8. John G. Shedd Aquarium

9. Chicago Premium Outlet

10. Skydeck Chicago / Willis Tower

if i would have known:

before i first saw you.

before i found out you didn't like tomatoes

before the first time we bumped hands

before you held my hand

before i bought you your first

pipe.

before i smoked it with you.

before you sang to me.

before my first picture of you.

before i kissed your

cheek

before you kissed my lips

before you said those anticipated words.

before my regretful answer:

Yes.

before you tucked me into your bed

before your family was my family

before you held me all night

before you were my bestfreind.

before you loved me.

before i loved you

then i wouldn't be

motionless

i wouldn't be attatched to my bed

i wouldn't pray for nightmares so i would be thankful for my reality.

i wouldn't be wishing

i never met you.

we are texting each other

This work represents a major achievement in seventeenth-century science. The product of many years of close observation, Joannes Goedaert’s Metamorphosis Naturalis was the first important study of the morphological transformation undergone by insects as they grow from larvae into fully grown beetles, flies, moths, and butterflies. Meticulously observed and carefully depicted, the bugs and beetles in Goedart’s volumes are a virtual catalogue of the insect life of the seventeenth-century Netherlands. A decades-long labor of love, Goedaert’s project was ultimately of Europe-wide significance, earning a broad audience — and even an English translation — among the nascent scientific community of the era. But the project was also one infused with religious significance for Goedaert, who saw the work as a form of careful observation of the mysteries of Creation. Goedaert’s devotion to the project was complete: he did the research, wrote the text, drew, and etched the illustrations, and ultimately self-published the book.

half way through our thanksgiving meal, i asked my brother if he stole one of the crescent rolls from my plate. after assuring me he did not, i resumed eating. a few hours later, dinner was over he had to get back to DC for work the next morning. a full hour after he leaves i recieve this text message. it took me about a full minute to realize what he'd done. i yelled 'son of a bitch' and just shook my head, laughing.

i realized i basically twitter to sean, sending him little updates here and there. but it's like sending them to a brick wall. notice the lack of replies.
