ODC: Homophones - A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning. The words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise"), or differently, such as carat, caret, and carrot, or to, two, and too.
Others probably can't see it so much as I do.. but I can see how tense she is here. Her body is working really hard, and she was amazing.
This labor was different than the others we've had with other dogs. Lucy was like Michelle Dugger - she was great at being pregnant and having babies.
Chrissy was carrying a lot of puppies (almost twice as many as Lucy ever carried in one litter) and her labor was... well, labor..
I lay on the bed with her for over 2 hours this morning, rubbing her belly before her first puppy was born.. She worked hard and we could see it.
This is a picture in a series of five. During a snow storm I thought it'd be blast to do a lifestyle photoshoot with some Abercrombie and Bukcle gear. The set-up was is a Nikon D800 with an off-camera flash and umbrella. Once again these are all selfies.

Final image from the series "More Than Skin Deep" for the Body Altar Show.
More Than Skin Deep is a series I did about the people behind the tattoos, and more specifically, why they each decided to carry a permanent mark on their precious canvas. The title of each piece recalls my discussions with them regarding their vast reasoning. Shot with a Polaroid EE100 Special on Fuji pack film, the emulsion was boiled off the backing and applied to the canvas to give each piece more of a living feel. Shooting in an environment without Command +Z, and hand creating one of a kind pieces without the convenience of negatives to duplicate endlessly, allows the medium to replicate the subject matter.
These were shot on a Polaroid EE Special camera with Fuji pack film. The images were then boiled off the paper backing and glued via a mixture of tacky glue and water to 5x7 pre stretched canvases. I toyed with affixing the photo both after it had dried and still wet and found the dried version worked a bit better while the wet was more prone to air bubbles. Once dry, the photographs were rubbed with different colors of acrylic paint, especially visible were the glue residue picked it up. Once that was dry, I used duct tape and newspaper to protect the fronts and spray painted the sidesusing complimentary colors to what was found in the picture.

I saw it happening before my eyes: 4 officers on bicycles suddenly pulled up to this woman playing and singing in the Vondelpark, something she has been doing there since a couple of years. They told her that she should move away or otherwise fear certain repercussions, because she is not allowed to collect any money while making her music. She could continue making music however, as long as she collects no money. Just shows how citizens are increasingly becoming subject to a system of monetary surpression or enslavement in my opinion. The boy with hat in center of the picture ostentatiously dropped her a euro with the officers standing nearby, thus committing an "unlawful act" in protest. She is a really good player and singer, playing Janis Joplin style songs. It would be a pity if she was forced to leave the park just because while playing she is receiving a couple of dimes, but we are increasingly living in a monetary dictatorship, as it seems. Not one dime may roll without "legal" tax agencies levying their taxes, huh? In the future we may all get micro-chipped for this reason, and paper money and coins may be abolished completely, so in this way everything will be under full control and fully transparent to the monetary authorities...
