Ok so one more!! My friend Bruce Sorrell posted a scary "Halloween-ish" image so I was inspired to share this rather ghoulish image. It's a figure on top of a blower on a Hot Rod. I hope it's not too scary. It's my favorite of the two that I posted today. :-)

Radiohead - Present Tense: Jonny, Thom
The platform indicator does a great job of describing both service and operator as BREL-built class 320, unit 320416, draws in to Paisley Gilmour Street station with a train to Gourock. If splitting hairs though the use of the past tense is questionable.
The Victorian architecture here is fabulous which the bright sunny day showing it off perfectly, even if there was a bit of a bracing wind coming off the coast.
For the record, the train is Scotrail's 2.25pm ex-Glasgow Central (1G49).
A shot taken almost two years ago to the day. How times have changed in the meantime.

Tense relationship between this heron and this boat. The heron is sulking while the boat asks him to leave him alone "Fish moi la paix (in french)". There will probably be no fish sharing tonight!
Relation tendue entre ce héron et ce bateau. Le héron fait la tête tandis que le bateau lui demander de lui "Fish la paix". Il n'y aura probablement pas d'échange de poisson ce soir !
Mexican Sunflower (Tithonia diversifolia) one of the prettiest flowers right after the frost. Their color seems to be intensified for those first few days... before they fade and drop to become part of the life cycle once again.
"Inhale..."
she whispered, standing few feet away from her friend.
"Focus..."
She encouraged.
Everything went silent in that moment. The world was ready to swallow them whole. The black beauties looked out in anticipation. Paws barely making any sound while they circled closer. They both knew it was a good idea bringing the two women together. Perhaps that story would be for another day.
Two different worlds, two different cultures and two different paths in life. Yet, they have one common bond:- Friendship.
Forbidden to unite and yet united due to a common enemy:- Hatred.
It was only during their hunts, adventures and silly moments away from their worlds that they could feel the true meaning of life. A true world with no rules, equality and abundant of knowledge exchange.
Confidently, her friend released the arrow far off into the distance. The wise ones both roared and soared across the field.
"Exhale..."
She said with a grin, reaching her arm to gently pat the tensed shoulders. Her friend turned to her with a knowing smirk. The two walked along following the wise ones.
Such a shame that before the sun sets, they would return back to where they 'belong'.
She would go back to the Emerald Village deep into the woods, its location hard to encounter due to the rogue nature of the elves that resides there. Her friend would return to the Opal Castle, resume her duties as the princess of the high king and queen of the royal elves.
But once a week or twice if they are lucky, they manage to regroup and discover more together of what else is out there...
P.S. Thank you Alexa for the inspiration and for being so patient! This was so much fun!

This dance
This dance
Is like a weapon
Is like a weapon
Of self defense
Of self defense
Against the present
Against the present
Present tense
I won't get heavy
Don't get heavy
Keep it light and
Keep it moving
I am doing
No harm
As my world
Comes crashing down
I'm dancing
Freaking out
Deaf, dumb, and blind
In you I'm lost
In you I'm lost
I won't turn around
When the penny drops
I won't stop now
Won't slack off
Or all this love
Will be in vain
To stop from falling
Down a mine
It's no one's business but mine
Where all this love
Has be in vain
In you I'm lost
In you I'm lost
In you I'm lost
In you I'm lost
A macro view of a tight knot in a mini bungee cord with complex light. The frame represents a span of ⅝ -of-an-inch across.
I spent an inordinate amount of time getting the composition right for this image. As it turns out, that was the easy part. Correctly illuminating the scene was exponentially more challenging; see below for details.
Strobist/technical info:
The scene was illuminated by two Nikon SB900 speedlights, a steady LED light, and the blue LED of a Coast TX10 Quad Color flashlight.
The SB900s were positioned at 9- and 4-o'clock, one-foot above and two feet away from the bungee knot. They were fired in Manual Mode @ ¼ power through Neewer 24" x 24" soft boxes. A steady LED light was placed at 11-o'clock and aimed hard-right behind the subject. The blue LED of the TX 10 was aimed from 4-o'clock and slightly below the subject. The LEDs were exposed for ⅛ s.
The SB900s were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X flash triggers.
Lens: Vega 11U f2.8 50mm attached to a bellows extended 44mm.
This large heron was perched on a pier support post behind the beautiful Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda, Florida over the Christmas holiday. A dramatic sunset was taking place over the harbor and so I slowly worked my way around to be in a position to capture the heron's silhouette against the backdrop of light and color. Meanwhile, the bird kept a wary eye on me... ready to fly at any moment. In this shot, it is crowching before springing into flight. It landed upon the roof of the mall.
In processing this image, I used Photoshop's Dehaze tool to further define the clouds.
