In the wake of the typhoon in late September, 2009, families who could not afford to properly rebuild constructed temporary houses using whatever they could find. Soldiers from the Bowling Green-based 189th Engineer Company, 276th Engineer Battalion work to dismantle the old Proctor Street Bridge in Big Stone Gap as part of the unit’s two weeks of annual training. Working with a local contractor, Virginia Guard engineers helped construct a temporary bridge that will be used while the existing bridge is dismantled and a new bridge is constructed. A detachment of the 189th is assigned to the Big Stone Gap armory, and in addition to being able to help their local community, the Virginia Guard Soldiers are gaining valuable real-world experience in bridge construction. This Prominent snag in South Quigley Lake (Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge) is usually prime roosting used by Eagles, Hawks, Vultures (and an occasional Redwing Blackbird.) I guess this Cedar Waxwing thinks he is now king of the lake ;^)
Drains from lavs and tub/shower were taken into existing 2" ABS kitchen drain while stack was being dealt with.
About a dozen homeless males can be temporarily housed in St. Barnabus' dorm rooms.
St Barnabas' Society and Home in Kennedytown, Hong Kong Island operates a drop-in centre providing the poor and homeless with meals, hot showers, and recreational facilities. They also provide temporary shelter and outreach services for the homeless.

This kind of temporary house is very common in the hill which surrending Taipei city, but exisisted in the public hill. This kind of house was built by people who are climb this hill every day and built it thru many years to complete it. Although it is a bad quality house, it is one kind of low culture for the low level people who just love to climb hill every day and join to talk to pass one day. They are almost aged people.
When Scottsdale embarked on the creation of the Indian Bend Wash (with the assistance of many others), temporary housing had to be found for those residents living in what would become the wash area. In the lowest reaches of the wash, this meant the Yaqui Indians. The Yaquis were brought into the area to help with the maintenance of the canals and help with other tasks. The Yaqui community remains a vibrant part of the Scottsdale community.
