The inaugural Saturday Social last Saturday 18th August at Cathays Social Club.
I played the opening set between 19.30 to 20.30 where not a soul danced but as soon as I'd finished my set, everyone was lubricated enough to venture onto the dancefloor.
Gareth the organiser has only just invited me to play the next one which falls on September the 15th, he's also offered me a later slot so that may be a challenge to get folk dancing.

Military Technical Museum Lešany in the Czech Republic on August 22, 2024. Czechoslovak People`s Army ZiL-157KDG signals vehicle. The chassis is also called ZiL-157 indicator vehicle. The displayed truck, with a built-in control room on the cargo bed, was operated as a part of the P-37M Dýšina surveillance radar system. This Soviet built transportable air surveillance, fighter guidance and target assignment radar assembly, includes a total of eight different vehicles. The Soviet name is P-37 Metch or Sword in English. NATO reporting name is Bar Lock.
