The trim pot was supposed to be trimmed to 262.08 kHz. Pretty close.

Coccinella septempunctata. A voracious predator that may eat as many as five thousand aphids, hemiptera, and bionicle mask bugs in its brief three- to six-week lifespan. Or until I take it apart. Bold red and black markings warn larger creatures that ABS tastes awful and is hard to chew.

With all those studs, perhaps this one is more "model team" or "creator" than "technic"? It's technic on the inside though. Simple functions. The legs are driven by the black twelve-tooth bevel gear. And the wings, once deployed, flap together from the dark bley eight-tooth gear.

The big 3,000 piece UCS version with motorized legs, elytra, and wings is still under development…

I also played around with the Pythagoras theorem and found the two practical values to use:

5 ( 6L in LEGO the first L is the 0 position ) and 7.071 { 5.sqrt(2) } rounded to 7 ( 8L in LEGO the first L is the 0 position )

7 ( 8L in LEGO the first L is the 0 position ) and 9.899 { 7.sqrt(2) } rounded to 10 ( 11L in LEGO the first L is the 0 position )

[attachment=15920:IMG-20150911-WA0001.jpg]

The first Pythagoras pair used is the top left with the 6L black axle and the two no. 4 connectors. Not a fan of this method as it is a bit over sized and if you build the parts rigid into you construction with support from the top and the back of the no. 4 connector it might ever so slightly bend the axle or damage your parts.

The second pair method one is the 11L beam again not a fan of this method as it will pull ever so slightly as it is actually a bit under sized.

The second pair method two and most favoured by me personal is the one I like most yes there will be a small 0.1mm gap in the gray axle but it is really small. I like this method better because I can brace the no 4 connectors from the back and from the tops.

Technic lego A team van

Already got a modern Sony 100 WPC stereo receiver but the most vintage audio enthusiast and technical experts mentioned under the same output wattage, audio amps from the 70's - 80's have more power than the modern's. I believe "Class A" amps are more significant, not sure about "New Class A". Will compare them side by side later.

Hooked up the HPM-60 and found major improvement in bass compare to the Denon PMA-501's 50 WPC. Clarity of tones are also outstanding, is this benefited by the "New Class A"? Anyway, the SU-V8 has more power and 3 years newer technology.

I spent last night raiding the attic to see what gems were packed away, ahh LEGO - i used to love this stuff. Its been so long since i'd even seen this it took me an hour or so putting it together......the memories!

Thanks to Robbie for use of his home studio to take this shot, more to follow as i relive my youth and find old toys etc.

Having never shot this combination before, I figured I should use my final roll of Technical Pan in my collection with some Technidol I had laying around. Well the film is hard expired, but man, amazing results all the same!

Another technic practice based on Leia's Tantive IV. I had some fun with the back, although I lost a lot of the detailing due to Stud.io's lack of flexible cable pieces.

I'm not about to replace my SL-1700 with this thing, but for a mid-range turntable it's pretty nice. And, it's the first fully automatic Technics I found for my collection. Even though the dust cover is busted and it didn't come with a headshell, it's not a bad deal for a sawbuck. It has a plastic plinth but it's thick and solid and the platter is as heavy-duty as you would expect to find on higher end turntables.

Even though this turntable is fully functional and sounds great it does need some cleaning, minor adjustments and repair. There's some strange grounding issue; when I touch the tonearm or even the finger grip on the headshell, it'll produce a hum. And of course the pitch adjustment and a few other parts could use a few squirts of electrical contact cleaner.

My first motorized Hotrod moc.

Lego Unimog 8110; I added a pneumatic cylinder to raise the loading bed. It is also driven by the motorized pump of the Unimog. It is working pretty good. The angle could be better, so there is still room for improvement. ;o)
