Sivas station has seen a substantial upgrade in time for the YHT service to start, including an overall roof. Already over four hours into its journey, DE22 033 is seen calling on the 15.20 Malatya - Ankara.
This is Turkish Railways class 45151 2-8-0 No. 45153 withdrawn on Cankiri depot. Built by British Locomotive Company of Glasgow to LMS 8F design, 25 were acquired from the British War Department in 1941. Seven never made it to Turkey being lost at sea. A further two followed in 1943. Sometimes known as 'Churchills' in Turkey.
Lavishly decorated with flags and flowers, this TCDD steam locomotive appears to have taken part in some official ceremony.

DE24 402 after arriving at Izmir Basmane on the 16.20 from Usak. The photo was somewhat rushed due to station staff informing us that we were about to get locked in, as this was the last arrival of the day.
The Westbound 'Güney Ekspresi' the 09.20 Kurtalan - Ankara, arrives at a very wet Diyarbakir behind DE22 004.

Turkey, Çatalagzi Colliery. Left hand loco is probably an ex-TCDD 3301 class, Henschel. On the right is (possibly) a Bagnall 060PT, metre gauge or rebuilt from metre to standard. April 1983.
After taking over from DE24 239 at Malatya, E68 054 worked forward on 'Firat Ekspresi' the 08.10 Elazig - Adana, and is seen calling at Fevzipaşa. Locos arriving on this service currently run round here, however a new cut-off tunnel is under construction.
