Carmel Place is New York’s first micro-unit building. This nine-story residence is the product of a 2012 design competition intended to introduce additional choices within New York’s housing market to accommodate the city’s rapidly growing population. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group collaborated with Monadnock Development on a proposal for the city’s first micro-unit apartment building, originally called “My Micro NY”, and turned out to be the winning proposal selected by the Bloomberg administration.

Each studio residence has been pre-fabricated in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and assembled on site. The efficiently designed studios include over nine foot ceiling heights, floor-to-ceiling windows, Juliette balconies, and ample storage. Tasteful finishes are complimented by Italian cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and Hansgrohe fixtures.

Skittles, the candy company, is giving one lucky person the chance to live in a micro-apartment for one year rent-free.

The apartment is a 350-square-foot studio located at Carmel Place on East 27th Street. This is the city's first micro-unity apartment building designed by TikTok sensation and interior designer Dani Klarić.

I love rainbows. I mean who doesn't? Something nice to look at on the grey rainy days!

When rainbows are found in the office. The only thing missing are unicorns.

Every morning, every evening, misting the seedlings and herbs. Basil, mint, thyme, rosemary, young marigolds, more corn, and a bunch of red and orange bell peppers that have not sprouted yet. Oh yes, and a bunch radishes.

It is a good harvest for Skittles, from the Vitis vinifera. Mmmmm.

This was one of those weird instances where an amazing article of clothing came in the mail, but we had no recollection of purchasing it. (We think it came all the way from The Netherlands even.)

We, really, really, really like it though.

So much so, that we made a collage about it.

Time out for Sassparilla's new dress!

Had a nice walk on Miami Beach with fellow flickr member Burnt Umber. While roaming around on the streets I noticed this mural on the side of one of the buildings.

Seriously looks like a huge flying creature crapped the skittles rainbow on the side of the building.

taking a break, Jim shares his Skittles and wonders what the heck I'm doing taking a Polaroid of the scene.
