I was just about to leave work and I look at how the sunset was reflecting off the some of the building and the elevated train. It had this yellow glow. There was a really light sun shower. And before I knew it there was a rainbow appearing over the gas station across the street. I ran and got my camera. It lasted about 25 minutes. 15 minutes into it I could see a second rainbow forming. 3 handheld shots. Exposures -2, 0, +2 . 100 ISO. Here it is in HDR. Enjoy while I'm going to find the gold at the end. Does it matter which end? Hmmm?

This is the cake my wife made for my daughters birthday.

My wife made two cakes a chocolate one for her birthday party with her friends and this one for home with just us.

As my daughter has coeliac disease both cakes were gluten free.

This cake was made up of six diffferent sponge layers with each one coloured different.

Inbetween the layers was jam and butter cream :)

You couldn't see the colours until the cake was cut as it was covered with a layer of marzipan and then white icing.

My daughter loves animals so my wife made paw prints around the edge of the cake and a cat sitting on the top.

This cake was ginormous and very very tasty you wouldn't believe it was gluten free.

I placed down a sheet of white poster paper onto the floor then placed the plate and cake onto the paper.

My camera was on my tripod and my tripod has a fancy feature which means you can extend the column horizontly and face the camera downwards, this placed the camera right above the plate.

To the left and right side of the plate I had a Jessops 360 AFD on stands and with see through white umbrellas pointing down towards the cake

Wanted to shoot something bright, colorful, and with a bit of a pop feel to it, so I decided to play around with some dramatically lit macro shots of Skittles.

Skittles aren't my favorite candy. More and more I find myself enjoying chocolate, whereas young me might very well have called Skittles a favorite. Now too many of them gives me a headache 😵

That said, I still ate all the green ones...

The water droplets act like small prisms. They refract and disperse the incident sunlight, then reflect it internally, and finally refract it again when it comes out of the raindrop.

This is the way I eat skittles. I throw out the purple ones and then I group them by color (because I only eat one color/flavor at a time). I start with my least favorite green and eat them left to right. Bonus! I got a LOT of red in this bag :) For 115 pictures in 2015: no. 106 All in a row

This weeks theme is "Circle or Round" .. and while munching on a packet of a well known coloured and round sweet I hit on the idea of making a rainbow with them..

The colour trail came from the chalks I used in my "Childhood Hopscotch" shot and the "Blue skittle" is courtesy of Picnik!

Taste the rainbow.

BPC#37 -- Blythe & Rainbows

I've always thought these little cuties looked sweet enough to eat!

After a couple failed rainbow shots in other places, I went to the grocery store and bought a big bag of Skittles and a big bag of M&M's. Sorting the colors was the fun part (isn't everyone just a little bit OCD?) -- and then I took a white board, my bowls of candy, and my girlies out in the neighborhood and found some shade. It was fun to set this one up!

Dresses by me -- especially for this challenge!

A self portrait series with a theme of colors and fruits. This project ended up taking a lot longer than I thought, and I must say the blueberries were the most difficult. Was a great learning experience though.

The secret to Lewin Farms delicious crops is that they use rainbows to add flavor... it really does make a difference! :-D

My rainbow vagina cupcakes as belt buckles! These are from custom molds. I drew the star freehand on cardboard and made my own damn mold out of it! Yay! They are huge. I think I'm going to make belt buckles out of them ♥ I cut my little rainbow vagina cupcakes out of some prints and backed them with iridescent glitter in rainbow stripes. Took a while to find rainbow letters that were small enough to fit in the molds. I was preparing to make the letters myself if I couldn't find rainbow, which I think I might do in the future because neon Sculpey has been surprisingly easy to work with. I made three psychedelic swirled hearts out of the stuff on the first try with no problems.

There was a rainbow outside, and I brought my sister out and posed her. Love the result. :-)

For macromonday's "smallest devices" and things we use everyday. How about candy? It's small and tasty! Sour candy, these and Starbursts in particular, are very addicting as I found out last week....
