Why settle for plain old eggs? No, I didn't color these, my chickens did. This is how they're layed. The one on the left is from my Marans, the next from my Production Red. The rest are from my Easter Eggers.

This is on top of the gingerbread house I decorated the other day, I sprinkled powdered sugar on top of the skittles to make it look snowed on.

I've been thinking about rainbows a lot these last few days. I saw a really cool picture of one on here and, with all the rain we've had, I've been hoping to catch one on film. Unfortunately I haven't seen any so that idea will just have to wait. However, I was in my office this morning on a really long phone call (thank you speakerphone) and caught a glimpse of a couple of CDs sitting on my bottom shelf. The reflection was really cool even though I'm not sure what they were reflecting. Anyway, I grabbed my camera and took a couple of pics just to see how the camera would catch it. As it turns out, it looked pretty good so I set a blank CD on my desk upside down and took a few closeup shots. Imagine my surprise when I saw the rainbow reflection. I took several shots but I think this was the best of all of them. This is NOT sooc. Here I've darkened the shadows, blown out the midtone contrast and sharpened just a bit to get some extra detail.
