This color - and texture I might add - I see whenever I hear these things:
-Wind
-Traffic (excluding horns, shrieking brakes, revving engines), mostly just the sound of tires and cars coasting by on the road.
-Many voices, particularly lighter-pitched ones.
-Air blowing through the furnace & ventilation.
-Cords hitting the laminate floor.
-Snare drum.
In reality those are just drum brush sticks. Their texture is pretty accurate to what I see as well, but the texture is always changing.
We perceive reality with all our senses. With some people, a stimulus automatically triggers an interconnection of several sensations: They not only hear sounds but also see colours along with them. This involuntary coupling of the senses is called synesthesia and is central to Digital Synesthesia, a project located on the intersection of digital art and neurosciences. In addition to investigations and experiments on the enhancement of perception, the project researches the potentials of digital technologies to generate synesthetic experiences with artistic means and enable multisensory perception for all.

El artista Christian Fernández Mirón, partiendo de su taller para familias ¡Grrr! Oye mi rugido, propuso una sesión interactiva donde se jugó con la creación de sonidos en tiempo real y de manera colectiva. Como si de una banda sonora se tratase, niños y adultos generaron los sonidos a partir de estímulos visuales, estrujando su imaginación y explorando la sinestesia (traduciendo el lenguaje visual a lenguaje sonoro).
We invite the families who participated during the 2012-2013 academic year and all those who wanted to join us to celebrate the meetings we share in CA2M.
The artist Christian Fernández Miron, starting from his workshop for families Grrr! Hear my roar, he proposed an interactive session where he played with the creation of sounds in real time and collectively. As if it were a soundtrack, children and adults generated the sounds from visual stimuli, squeezing their imagination and exploring synesthesia (translating visual language into sound language).

The photographer Jerome Tabet wanted to reveal this mysterious and inaccessible world. His photos, abstract and brilliant, freely inspired by Tammet's synaesthesia, push back the borders of mathematical representation and open the doors to a universe in motion, alive, vibrating and cosmic.

“Polo” (La Olla Exprés)
Fortunately, there is still versatile and unorthodox artists like Eli Gras and Florenci Salesas that can illuminate unclassifiable works like this album, “Polo”, which is among the most interesting held in Spain in recent months. Eli Gras is also a designer, writer, editor and director of the Barcelona festival NoNoLogic. And Florenci Salesas is also an actor, writer and cartoonist. Both are also musicians and non-musicians to recover the best Experimental Barcelona (Macromassa, Klamm, The T) and electronic pop tinged with echoes of Kraftwerk and a nod to the Flying Lizards, Laurie Anderson or Jean-Jacques Perrey. Retrofuturism ¿?, Electronaïf ¿? Whatever it is, is an authentic and intimate delight. Amazing! They are just two. He looks as a bank clerk. She an school teacher. As the way things are, their aesthetics really breaks out. They makes “naive” pop with a certain 80´s taste but absolutely valid today. Do we´ll have to be wait that some celebrity discovers them? It´s really necessary?

MOTOR COMBO (Barcelona)
What´s naive? Acording to the dictionary, it´s an artistic movement arised at the XX century beginnings that through its multi-coloured simplicity, it looks like the primitive painters. Motor Combo is a naive electronic music group from Barcelona that, by the same way, we will can either qualify as “primitive futurists” or as “troglodytes of tomorrow”. The project is formed by Eli Gras, the third part of the indispensables Obmuz and nowadays the 50% of Motor Combo and Florenci Salesas, ex-member of the savage improvisation group Etnia where Eli Gras was too. On active from the 2.002, the duet will provide the entertainment to a children party, to write horror-scifi movie soundtracks or either to give some atmosphere to a vernissage where the guests are plastic showroom dummies and the canapés sweetly poisoned. Motor Combo could remember us to Der Plan, Telex, Aviador Dro... but always looking under a deceptively childlike point of view. Motor Combo is like a toy robot that shots real laser rays.

La superbe et époustouflante exposition « Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses », qui se tient actuellement au Musée des Arts Décoratifs à Paris rend hommage à l’une des créatrices de mode les plus visionnaires de sa génération – et le simple terme « mode » semble presque déplacé tant les normes conventionnelles du vêtement sont ici transgressées.
Cette rétrospective s’articule autour de neuf thématiques et recense l’essence même de son travail fusionnant mode, art contemporain, design et sciences (et je pourrais ajouter : architecture).
Bien plus qu’une exposition dédiée à la Haute Couture, l’exposition « Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses », constitue un voyage immersif dans cet univers singulier et hybride, ponctué par les recherches et les expérimentations de la créatrice.

Si la matérialité du corps, son anatomie et ses réseaux entrent en résonance avec les créations d’Iris van Herpen, d’autres dimensions de l’être la fascinent et l’inspirent. L’intérêt qu’elle porte au cerveau et plus particulièrement à la synesthésie ou aux phénomènes complexes des états modifiés de conscience, comme le rêve lucide ou l’hypnose, lui permet d’étirer les frontières de la mode au-delà de la simple perception visuelle ou de l’expérience tangible du vêtement. Fascinée par la neurologie, elle cherche à susciter le trouble, à magnifier les sens, à les sculpter par les matériaux qu’elle choisit. Comment diluer les frontières de la perception ? Comment stimuler le cerveau à travers les cinq sens et comment les associer les uns aux autres pour provoquer une nouvelle expérience émotionnelle ?

This superb and breathtaking exhibition “Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses,” currently on view at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, pays tribute to one of the most visionary fashion designers of her generation – and the simple term “fashion” almost seems out of place here as conventional standards of clothing are largely transgressed.
This retrospective is structured around nine themes and identifies the very essence of van Herpen’s work fusing fashion, contemporary art, design and science (and I could add: architecture).
Much more than an exhibition dedicated to Haute Couture, “Iris van Herpen. Sculpting the Senses", invites the visitor on an immersive journey into this singular and hybrid universe, punctuated by the designer's research and experiments.
One simple piece of advice: run for it!!!
SYNAESTHESIA
The body’s materiality, anatomy, and sensory systems clearly resonate throughout Iris van Herpen’s creations, but other dimensions of the human experience also fascinate and inspire her. The interest she takes in the brain, and more particularly in synesthesia and complex phenomena of modified states of consciousness, such as lucid dreaming and hypnosis, permit her to stretch the boundaries of fashion to something more than just a visual or tangible experience of a piece of clothing. Fascinated by neurological research, she seeks to trouble perception, to magnify the senses, to sculpt them along with the materials she chooses. How to dilute the frontiers of perception? How to stimulate the brain with all five senses working together to provoke a new emotional experience?

Here's a photo of the Light City installation Synesthesia by Surcreative on the last night of Light City2018.
Daniel Tammet is one of the world's best-known synaesthetes. One of his remarkable abilities? Seeing figures and numbers in colour, endowing them with a texture, with a story and a personality. An original and poetic vision.
The photographer Jerome Tabet wanted to reveal this mysterious and inaccessible world. His photos, abstract and brilliant, freely inspired by Tammet's synaesthesia, push back the borders of mathematical representation and open the doors to a universe in motion, alive, vibrating and cosmic.

You know you're guilty of it yourself. Not that its wrong but there are quite a few that seem to rely on using textures to make their pictures, therefore making their pictures about how messed up their 'negatives' are rather than what they're actually taking pictures of. Don't get me wrong, I've noticed myself doing that myself. That's why I stopped it.
Though I do make exceptions for lomography. I own two lomo snappers afterall :P
It nearly seems that sometimes the dust and tectures are fighting with the subject matter for the top seat of attention..
For the record I dont like this, just for the fact it's of me again. Pete was right when he said I'm dying for subject matter.
Stuff..
- I've started editing Lest we forget. Im about 70something frames short.. time to break out the incriminating/embarrassing photos ;D
- The other 1/2 of the family returned from their weekend holiday, goodbye free time.
- I'm finally getting stuff done. LWF was one of the main ones on the list.

Lighting...
2 bare Vivitar 285HVs cross lit. One about 2-3ft away, 70degrees camera right, firing through the perspex. The other about 9ft away hitting the rear-left hand side of my face/hand. But you could work that out yourself.. right?
