Doyle McCormack's RSD-5 (with McCormack at the throttle) was switching in the ORHF shop yard when I rode by today.
It's been a /long/ time since I've seen an Alco chirping around (The last ones I think I saw were a pair of the Napa Valley Wine Train locomotives on the last trip Julie & I made down to Napa Valley, but that's been maybe 17 years?)
This is a photograph from the 5th annual Clongowes 5KM road race and fun run which was held at Clongowes Wood College, Clane, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 20th March 2016 at 11:00. The race is held annually as a fundraiser in aid of Clane Athletic Club and the Order of Malta International Camp and Lourdes fund. The weather was very good for road running. A cold dry crisp spring morning with clear skies and little wind. The race starts within the grounds of Clongowes Wood College at the Gold Course Side. The race proceeds out the golf course exit onto the Clane Kilcock road (the R407) and heads towards Kilcock. At the next junction (Borehole Cross) the course then takes a left and heads towards Prosperous village on the R408 known locally as 'the straight road'. About 1KM after the turn the course turns left in Ballynaboley and makes its way along a small boreen road which brings runners to join up again with the Clane Kilcock road. The race then runs right towards Clane and soon the runners see the famous landmark of the gates of the entrance to Clongowes Wood College. There is about a 400m straight stretch down the avenue to the finish as runners look down the straight avenue to the finish and the backdrop of the historic college buildings. Overall the course is flat and fast with a small incline over the first 2KM before the race turns off the Clane-Kilcock road.
The race is supported by Clane Athletic Club which is one of Ireland's newest athletic clubs. The club was reformed in 2012 with the principal aim of promoting athletics for all ages in the village of Clane and surrounding areas.
The grounds of the college provide a historically significant backdrop to the race. The school can trace its history back to a large estate owned by a local family in the 1400s. The estate became a school in the 1800s. While Clongowes is well known in the educational domain it is also well known for its strong history in schools rugby union. Today Clongowes Wood college is a voluntary secondary boarding school for boys.

The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. Our front light died soon after the last stucco job was finished. I finally got around to diagnosing the problem and replacing the damaged $2 light switch.

Switcher locomotive number 534 is approaching close enough to couple to this single car.
1) Marie Cher - I tracked down some jeans for my sister.
2) This picture is supposed to remind me of the ¨tango map¨ which is
published for two months at a time. It is invaluable for the tango
traveller with locations of the milongas for every night of the week.
3) Artemisia was an amazing restaurant. It was mostly vegetarian
actually - they did have some seafood on the menu, though. I needed a
break from all the delicious carne. OMG the food there was so
incredible. It was quite possible the best vegetarian meal I´ve had in
my entire life. It´s in Palermo, like so many others. I also walked by
Pigmalion on Cabrera where I´d had a class when I fist got here, but
I´d no idea where it was.
4) La Marshall, the gay milonga at Maipu 444 was really interesting.
Two people had recommended it and A was going to meet so friends so I
went with her. It was really interesting watching the dancers: men
with men (as tango actually started), women with women and women with
men (often the women lead). I saw one of the most amazing acrobatic
tango performances. It was so fast, and precise I felt as if I was
watching a sped up video, only it was real life. Later when the men
would dance, after a song, they would switch being leader and follwer.
As one person remarked at our table, it is so difficult to learn how
to do either and here they are doing both so well!

I guess this thing started life out as an EMD switcher. The underframe appears to be from EMD, although who knows what it once was.
