RAF FTS (Fixed Telecommunications System)
The RAF FTS supports UKADGE in the defence of UK airspace. If a target is detected, a central control decides the action to be taken. Good communications to other operational units, support units and emergency services are essential. The RAF FTS ensures good communications between all these agencies and authorities. The systems provides for 3 areas:
a. Voice – person to person (either secure or not)
b. Recorded messages – written orders or signals (achieved via DCN).
c. Data – transfer of data is important and circuits carrying data normally have dedicated lines.
The RAF FTS consists of a variety of different types of media used to carry information (called Boxer) and various types of equipment used to send and receive the information (called Uniter).

The network of Service-owned lines and information links that carry information all round the country.
It includes fibre optic, microwave and satellite links.
UNITER
Hardware.
Uniter provides the switching and terminal equipment which allows the user to communicate information to a receiver.
Communication will include voice, recorded messages and data as described above.

TNS5500 series are 12-port 100M/Gigabit layer 2 managed industrial Ethernet switches designed for rail transit. This series of products conform to EN50155 and EN50121 industrial standards. Network management system supports various network protocols and industrial standards, such as STP/RSTP, 802.1Q VLAN, QoS, DHCP Server, DHCP Client, IGMP Static Multicast, LLDP, Port Trunking, Port Mirroring and so on. When the port link failure occurs, ALARM indicator will be bright and send out alarm, meanwhile, alarm device connected to the relay will send out alarm for rapid scene troubleshooting. Hardware adopts fanless, low power consumption, wide temperature and voltage design and has passed rigorous industrial standard tests, which can suit for the industrial scene environment with harsh requirements for EMC and can be widely used in vehicle-mounted PIS, CCTV, Video Monitoring, Train Control and other systems.

**decided to do a table top shoot - haven't done anything like this since my photo class. Was originally doing this to practice with the 60mm....I wasn't thrilled with what I was getting so I switched to my kit lens midway through

Southern Pacific #1303, (ex-Southern Pacific #1925), a NW-2E switcher built in June 1949 by G.M.-EMD. Powered by a V12 diesel engine producing 1000 bhp. Rebuilt in April 1971 and became #1303. On display and used for switching (shunting) duties at the Galveston Island R.R. Museum, Texas.
The engineer and conductor from the M-SUPMIN assist the switch tender clear the switch of the 29.2 inches of snow that fell in Cass Lake today.
If these switches were installed in Canada, it would be a bad design because we are used to light on the room by moving the switch up, not horizontally.
Cultural aspects are important while designing products and interfaces.

A limit switch at the base of the southwest side of the Cherry Street bridge in Toronto. This is what lets the bridge control system know that the bridge is fully closed.
It was this Apple ad campaign that finally convinced me to switch to Macs full time. It would take another three years to fully make that switch.

This is a photograph from the 2nd round of the 2016 Pat Finnerty Memorial 5KM Road League which was held in Belvedere House and Gardens, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 11th May 2016 at 20:00. The Road League is promoted and organised by Mulligar Harriers Athletic Club. It is very well established as an annual event which takes place on every Wednesday night in the month of May. Tonight the weather was humid and mild making for very good running conditions. About 270 participants took part in the race which runs a traffic free course over a mix of road and hilly forest trail. Participants must complete any three races out of four races to be included in the final overall standings.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase.
