After installing PCB mounted and Plate mounted stabilizers, my next step was to see how hard it would be to disassemble 70 Cherry MX Red switches for lubrication.
Alex's favorite past-time! In the function room next to the church in Nuneaton Alex found it to be full of sockets and switches. He then proceeded to turn them all on.

An afternoon of tinkering with the Alfa. An upgrade of sorts, adding a hazard warning light switch and associated wiring. A worthwhile modernisation, especially given the increase in smart motorways, with no hard shoulder. Luckily, I could mount the switch in a spare hole in the dashboard, previously blanked off with a rubber bung.
The other switch is a dimmer for the instrument panel, which takes it from dim to even dimmer.

Old fashioned dimmer switch has dimmed it's last. Not being a fan of electrickery nor or it's little handmaidens of doom I thought it best to label the wires before essaying it's replacement.
It seems the whole room was once painted a somewhat daunting shade of Rectory Red.
Volex, trhe original makers of te switch are now "your total global solution for data and power". And if that doesn't put the lights out I don't know what will.
Anyway, along with Wylex, Crabtree et al it's all be subsumed by the omnipresent Siemens Group.
