☀️ daisies🌼🌼.
for several nights i sat outside on the patio and watched the sunset paint a magical glow on this group of daisies down by village lake in pagosa springs colorado. the conditions would have to be perfect in order to capture what i was imagining. the clouds would have to be high and not low, the wind – oh yes, the wind would have to be still and silent, the geese would have to be grazing in another area and on wednesday night.. all was perfect.

I swim through the ocean of my mind
I drown in the questions I ask myself
I fight to hang on to my tomorow
Only to be pulled back by my past
I scattere in the waves melting in the heat of the night
I Blow in the wind of my hopes
I cry my soul with the salt of the sea
I am blind to my true wishes
Only to see what I shouldn't want
I scattere in the waves melting in the heat of the night
I want to close my eyes and whatch with my heart
I want to breath with my fingers blocking the cold wind
I want to use my reflection and look inside myself
I want to stop time with the power of my thoughts
I want to feel It's all up to me.
Up to myself & I

in portixol, as the golden sun dips towards the horizon, a quiet walker moves along the shore, silhouetted in the evening light. there’s something timeless in her pace, a soft rhythm that matches the slow setting of the sun. while others may rush or turn away, she walks right into the moment, fully present with nature’s final light of the day. her silhouette adds a quiet dignity, a small, serene figure against the vast canvas of sunset and sea.
Reflections of the setting sun on the Luas Tram tracks at Ballyogan, Dublin, Ireland. It is astonishing how quickly the sun sets. I just missed getting a beautiful full sun in this image by five minutes.
Our dry settled weather in the past week in Ireland has produced several amazing sunsets.

Norway is a place of endless natural beauty. Incredible fjords, winding small roads, raw tunnels carved through the bedrock and so much more. These images are from summer road trips during 2024.

some evenings all the pieces come together to create epic sunsets. this evening it all came together and it was magical, unlike anything i’ve ever seen before. the sky lite up from yellow, to orange, to red, to pink – the mountains reflected a beautiful glow and my world just seemed to be at peace.✌️

There is a magical spot on the Metolius River.
Well, actually there are Many magical spots, but this one is extra special. Deep deep pools with huge redside rainbow trout lay waiting for the perfect fly presentation. They are at tad technical, a tad finicky, and a tad lazy just milling about and coming up from down deep to give the eager fisher a tease at what 'could' be their next catch.
And the fisher does come to the call of the wild trout.
And they all stay longer here than any other spot on the river...tying, trying, casting and cursing.
It is known as "the idiot hole", but for the few that actually do catch here, it's pure fool's gold.
(as with all my shots, the only enhancement I might ever do is crop. So like the previous shot, Yes, this IS the real color of the water, at dusk)

The wooden groynes stretch out towards the sea as the sun sets over Hunstanton beach. The last light of the day catches the weathered timbers and calm waves, with the soft glow of sunset adding warmth to the scene. One of the few places on the east coast where you can watch the sun sink over the water.

Photograph of the infamous Luna Park at golden hour showing its reflections and the sunset sky in the harbour / harbor. I captured this image towards the end of the festivities of the Australian Navy Centenary in October, 2013.
Golden hour can have so much power and make photographs look seemingly different to their normal daytime view. I await this time of day for the amazing light/glow and hue that the sun offers our planet Earth whilst setting.
[From Wikipedia]
Luna Park Sydney (originally Luna Park Milsons Point, also known as Sydney's Luna Park) is an amusement park located in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Luna Park is located at Milsons Point, on the northern shore of Sydney Harbour.
The park was constructed at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during 1935, and ran for nine-month seasons until 1972, when it was opened year-round. Luna Park was closed in mid-1979, immediately following the Ghost Train fire, which killed six children and one adult. Most of the park was demolished, and a new amusement park was constructed; this originally operated under the name of Harbourside Amusement Park before resuming the Luna Park name.
The park was closed again in 1988 as an independent engineering inspection determined that several rides needed urgent repair. The owners failed to repair and reopen the park before a New South Wales government deadline, and ownership was passed to a new body.
Reopening in 1995, Luna Park closed again after thirteen months because of the Big Dipper rollercoaster: noise pollution complaints from residents on the clifftop above the park caused the ride's operating hours to be heavily restricted, and the resultant drop in attendance made the park unprofitable. After another redevelopment, Luna Park reopened in 2004 and has continued operating since.
Luna Park is one of two amusement parks in the world that are protected by government legislation; several of the buildings on the site are also listed on the Register of the National Estate and the NSW State Heritage Register. The park has been utilised as a filming location for several movies and television shows.

Pedernales State Park, TX
The sun god makes a last stand on the horizon and bestows his glow on the waters of the Pedernales.
Photographer Notes: Typical 3 exposure (+/-2ev) HDR processed with detail enhancer in Photomatix. Learned some new tricks on selective edits within Capture NX2 on this image (selective noise reduction -- you can use control points to do selections too). Layers and masking via Pixelmator. Threw out the rule of thirds and power quadrants and went with a very helio-centric crop on this image.

I have been hankering after getting this shot for about 3 or 4 years but the water has never been high enough to overflow when ever I have been there. So seeing the levels were high, decided I had to take the opportunity, Even with the 17-40 mm lens I struggled to get the whole thing in from some angles which was a bit disappointing for the ones I chopped off the edges. Had to balance the tripod over the wall which was not that sturdy so doing a pano stitch was not really an option Hard to believe in the summer the levels were so low you could see the ruins of the village that was flooded when the dams were built. Quite a few other photographers there so maybe you will similar shots elsewhere and there is loads as I thought I may as well try every angle of both plug holes as not sure when I will be lucky enough to see this again especially at sunset.
