324/366: The Light
Within the darkness there is always the light.
Shining bright through the darkened sky.
– the light
– the light
Keeps us warm at night.
On the coldest days.
– the light
– the light
Search always for the light.

Cloud formations can often be seen forming above the river during warm late afternoons as water evaporates above the river. With the sun setting behind the property, these cloud formations often reflect the colors of the sunset, becoming part of the ever-changing “landscape” visible from this majestic hillside location near the river.
Sunset, Golden Bay. Għajn Tuffieħa, Mellieha, Malta. Taken from hotel room balcony on Thursday 29th of December at 16:44:17Hrs GMT using a Nikon CoolPix P100.

today's sunset was even more dramatic than yesterday's...i positioned myself at the inner end of the marina so i could get a nice shot of the Harbour Town Lighthouse and it's reflection in this frame...the long exposure using the ND 10stop filter gave the shot an even more polished look with great vibrant sunset tones...this lighthouse is a must see when in Hilton Head, South Carolina...awesome panoramic views can be enjoyed when you're at the top of the lighthouse...hope you enjoy this sunset...pls. The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the world’s largest aquariums, renowned for its bold architectural design and immersive marine exhibits. Situated in Tempozan Harbor Village, this modern landmark overlooks Osaka Bay, creating a seamless connection between urban energy and serene ocean views. The striking façade, designed by Peter Chermayeff, features vivid red and blue geometric panels adorned with a giant whale shark mural, symbolizing the treasures within. Completed in 1990, the building embodies the late 20th-century architectural trend of merging functionality with artistic flair.
The Kaiyukan’s interior takes visitors on a spiraling journey through a series of interconnected tanks that replicate diverse marine habitats, from the Pacific Ocean to the Great Barrier Reef. The central tank, home to majestic whale sharks, anchors the experience, showcasing the aquarium’s commitment to educating visitors about ocean ecosystems.
Adjacent to the aquarium, the Tempozan Marketplace and the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel add to the vibrant atmosphere, making it a must-visit hub for families and travelers alike. The surrounding harbor area offers stunning views, especially at sunset, where the water reflects the city’s skyline and creates a picturesque backdrop. For architecture and design enthusiasts, the aquarium’s exterior juxtaposes beautifully against the surrounding modern structures and waterfront.
Whether you're marveling at marine life or enjoying the views of Osaka Bay, the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and its harbor village invite visitors to explore the intersection of urban life and natural beauty. It’s a snapshot of Osaka’s innovative spirit, blending education, entertainment, and architectural excellence in one unforgettable destination.
"...Ond’io per lo tuo me’ penso e discerno
che tu mi segui, e io sarò tua guida,
e trarrotti di qui per loco etterno,
ove udirai le disperate strida,
vedrai li antichi spiriti dolenti,
ch’a la seconda morte ciascun grida;
e vederai color che son contenti
nel foco, perché speran di venire
quando che sia a le beate genti..."

The image beautifully captures the essence of the San Francisco Bay area, offering a tantalizing glimpse of the majestic Golden Gate Bridge as it gracefully spans the waters. As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant hues, a lone sailing boat glides serenely across the bay. This picturesque scene epitomizes the harmonious coexistence of nature and urban marvels, making it a testament to the mesmerizing beauty of the Golden Gate City
I did not think there was going to be any clouds for a sunset last night as there were no clouds visible from our place. I was out running errands and could see that there were some pretty clouds above the horizon. So went back home and got my camera/tripod and hurried to the closest ocean location and made it in time. Wow, it was so pretty to watch and I was glad I made it in time.
305/366: The Big Picture – Colorado in Fall
I typically like to be in the mountain, among the trees, with the wildlife – but sometimes I enjoy taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture. The bigger picture can be so beautiful, so pristine, so majestic, awe-inspiring, if we just take the time to step outside the details to truly see the beauty which is unfolding in front of us.
