As the sun dips low, the Forth transforms into a breathtaking canvas of red and gold. From my vantage point on Calton Hill, I watch as the island of Inchmickery sits serenely in the middle of the estuary, its rugged silhouette perfectly framed against the calm water. The evening sky, awash with amber and crimson hues, reflects on the tranquil sea, while the distant hills of Fife seem to fade into the horizon. The quiet of the moment—shared by a crowd of us watching in awe—offers a rare stillness, where the world pauses to savour the beauty of nature’s masterpiece. From Granton Harbour to Dalgetty Bay, every glance reveals a scene more captivating than the last, as the light softens and the Forth embraces the sun’s final embrace of the day. This is not merely a sunset; it is a poetic testament to the tranquil beauty of the Scottish coastline.
331/366: In The Shadows of Darkness
In the shadows of darkness lurks our deepest fears, our anxious desires, and our secret addictions. Appearing everyday not matter what we do, the shadows of darkness take our souls and feed it to the few.

Bear Gulch Reservoir is formed by damming the waters of Bear Creek. The dam, visible in the center of this picture, is at an elevation of 1600ft above sea level, that's higher than most parts of the Pinnacles National Monument. Any failure of this dam will unleash a catastrophic flood down the Bear Gulch and into the Chalone Creek Valley towards the Visitor Center and campground.
203/366: Floating Colorado Sunset
I captured this magnificent Colorado Sunset on Village Lake in Pagosa Springs. Where the air is clear and the mind is free, where imaginations run wild and the world is all we see.
This photo has a perfect sunset reflection symmetry and if you look at the photo long enough it will appear the land is floating with sky above and sky below. The sunset shines with colors of golden orange as the grass is illuminated with a green so fresh and vibrant.
This photo was shot with my Lee Filters circular polarizer for an exposure time of 1/25 seconds at f/8, ISO 100 – 14mm.

Photo-a-day Advent Calendar for A Hobbling A Day. Theme for week of December 8: Peace. The sun has just set casing a peaceful glow of the flowing Santa Fe River.
Light is almost gone on the bay. So nice to see the open water. Tomorrow the weather is going to be warm and sunny. Summer is just around the corner.
Sunset Golden Hour with Birds Over The Sun, Flying Above Small Natural Lake. Trees And Orange Color Reflection on the Water.
Blue hour is one of my favourite times of the day to photograph. Without the harshness of the sun above the horizon the details in the clouds really come to the fore. Throw in some still water reflections and a bit of foreground interest and all the ingredients are there for a creative image. This is the Mersey Gateway Bridge spanning the River Mersey in Runcorn (or Widnes if you are from the darkside). The tips of the remains of the Mersey Flat wreck of the Beadale poke through the high tide river mersey.

My son called and said "go take a picture of the UFO cloud!" I Watched it grow and head off to the NE while it reflected the setting sun.

這個星期去中部遊玩,可惜中部天候不佳,錯過台北大景,昨天一回來趕快衝淡水,可惜夕陽雖美,後續卻有烏雲罩頂,沒有更多精彩畫面~

201/366: Sunset on Village Lake – Colorado
The sunset on Village Lake in Pagosa Springs Colorado on the day we arrived for vacation. Mother nature gave us a spectacular painting for a sunset on our arrival date. The sky was speckled with clouds and the lake was calm as could be.. except for the geese flying in for an evening snack. You could hear the geese from far away before you would see them glide into Village Lake in Pagosa Springs Colorado. As the sun got lower and lower in the sky the clouds began to light up with beautiful shades orange and yellow.. I was mesmerized by the simple beauty in front of my eyes. The tallest mountain in the background is Pagosa Peak which is part of the San Juan Mountain range.
Once I started editing the photos I noticed 2 lens flare rainbows on the right side of the photos…. Mother nature is so grand when she wants to give us a show of beauty.
This photo was shot with my Lee Filters circular polarizer and big stopper for an exposure time of 121 seconds at f/11, ISO 100 – 14mm.

More reflections of the Mersey Gateway bridge in Runcorn Cheshire. Nice to get some clouds in the sky for a change, it makes a big difference when compared to mono coloured skies, though the colour did not really catch on this occasion.

This was a glorious sunset in March of this year. Both these shots , and one I posted at the time, are SOOC. I'm reposting for misterladybug who visited my earllier shot and was surprised that this was the actual colour. It truly was amazing ~I don't think I've ever seen that much colour reflected in the water. Hope we get another colourful sunset soon!
