Cloud formations can often be seen forming above the river during warm late afternoons as water evaporates above the river. With the sun setting behind the property, these cloud formations often reflect the colors of the sunset, becoming part of the ever-changing “landscape” visible from this majestic hillside location near the river.

332/366: And The Clouds Marched On

Photograph titled ‘And The Clouds Marched On’ was taken in early October in Pagosa Springs Colorado with my Nikon D810 and Lee Filters Big Stopper for an exposure time of 82 seconds at f/11, ISO 100 – 14mm

Hopefully Spring is just around the corner. This was a sunset reflection in Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge

Lake Elsie in Tavares, the lakes of the Lake county are awfully quiet for most part of this year, making for breath taking reflections. So one evening when I spotted this lake with sun going past the horizon, I didn't hesitate to pull the camera and tripod out.

This shot was taken last October and it was taken hand held because I didn't have my tripod with me. I wanted this photo in particular to have as little post processing as possible, so all I did here was remove a dust spot with the cloning tool, resize the image and reduce some noise because I used ISO 200 for this shot.

There is a slight tilt on the horizon but I'm willing to live with it. So please don't post any notes about it.

A charming Mediterranean town nestled between rolling green hills under the soft light of sunset. The view captures the town's historic stone buildings, tiled roofs, and a prominent ancient watchtower rising above the rooftops. The lush green hills in the background provide a serene contrast, while the town's whitewashed buildings reflect the warm glow of the setting sun. This peaceful scene evokes the tranquil beauty and timeless allure of small coastal towns.

I captured this just after sunset, drawn to the stillness and soft colors that define Shem Creek’s unique atmosphere. There’s a quiet magic here at day’s end — peaceful, reflective, and full of Southern soul. From the Fine Art Gallery of Shelia Hunt at Shelia-Hunt.pixels.com

A change of lens 16-35mm and the red sunset was turning pink/purple.

It is very difficult to beat the view of a full moon rising over the open Gulf of Mexico...or any ocean, for that matter!

After a few minutes at the Mills River Valley overlook, I drove south on the parkway looking for the sunset. I saw these reflections in the clouds as I approached the Cradle of Forestry overlook. This is the birthplace of American forestry.

This was taken last December. The weather was great and so there was a great sunset. I have a different shot from the same sunset that I uploaded back in December. I used my Canon 70-200 F2.8L IS lens for this shot.
