Summer sunset, captured almost 1 year ago. Times flies, as they say!

This is a bit of a poignant image, as it is the last image I had left to process from my Canon 80D. Shortly after I captured it I traded all my kit in to become a Fuji user.

Now, I am no Fuji fanboy! Far from it. You can get good images and mediocre ones from any camera. I just fell in love with the retro styling of the Fuji range. Emotion winning out over any consideration of specs!

Thank you Canon, for many happy years (20 in total, starting with a EOS 500 35mm film camera and followed by an EOS 400D, a 7D, an EOS M, a 100D and finally a 80D). I'm sure I'll buy a Canon camera again one day - really nice kit!

Amazing sunset captured in seaside town Weston Super Mare in North Somerset, England.

I used the big stopper

It seems that many parts of Ontario were blessed Friday evening with wonderful skies that were set ablaze as the sun dropped below the horizon.

Many of my contacts posted stunning sunsets captures from different areas of the province. And the description was almost identical in many of the photos "no post processing, photo just cropped etc " . It seems that perhaps the Gods are paying up for a cooler and wetter than normal summer.

I was on my way to the point for some water shots, and just had to stand back and take this scene in, it really was beautiful to see in person.

What an incredible sunset there was this evening on the West Coast of Scotland. This small group of three shots were taken viewing Hunterston Bay in Ayrshire.

The first shot: Yachts At Sunset, captures for me the essence of a still and calm summer sunset in Scotland, it invigorates mind, body and soul.

The second shot: Teach A Man To Fish captures one man in the solace of the calm water of a receeding tide totally focussed on catching tomorrows dinner that he is blissfully unaware of anything else around him other than his surroundings, peace!

The third shot: Sunset Over Hunterston Bay, depicts the deep water ocean terminal where a ship loaded with coal is being unloaded by the two tall cranes, meanwhile, the sun beats down as it ebbs in the evening sky, positive tranquility within an industrial location.

I hope you enjoy these three, I certainly enjoyed taking them, your feedback is welcome.

I am afraid I am going to upload rather more than one image of this spectacular sunset captured yesterday evening. Location is the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall, England with the Celtic Sea in the background. The sun looked like it was burning a hole in the cloud!

Captured: Captree State Park, Oak Beach, NY.

Pictured here is an updated version of one of my favorite sunset captures... This is a view of Long Island's State Boat Channel Bridge at dusk, on an evening where the sky was full of radiant sunset colors.

Quick note about this drawbridge... The State Boat Bridge extends between Captree Island and Jones Beach Island, and is located along the Robert Moses Causeway.

This is the first of two bridges that connect the mainland to the ocean beaches in Robert Moses State Park. It also provides beach goers with access to the Fire Island Lighthouse, and the Captree boat basin.

Beautiful sunset capture on Cayuga Lake in upstate New York!

Permit me one more flight of fancy up into the turbulent atmosphere as I turn from the previous sunset capture to the scene that was unfolding behind me at the park. This massive storm went through a number of different color changes form the gray and beige colors to the brooding beauty that you see in this scene. It towered over me and I could never squeeze all of it into the frame no matter which way I turned the camera.

I have mentioned this before, but I think most people that take photos of sunrise and sunset scenes, tend to take a few captures and then depart once the sun disappears over the horizon. For me, that is just the beginning of the fun and the colors in the clouds just seem to grow in intensity and that can sometimes be 30 to 40 minutes after the sun as set. If I used a tripod, I could extent that even further, but I usually get more than enough shots to last me and am still going through the captures of this particular event. It was an impressive evening at El. Franco Lee Park.

Sunset clouds over Lincoln Central station

A short sequence of photos of a beautiful sunset, captured after getting off my train from Nottingham - seen over the skyline of the Cathedral City of Lincoln.

I spent two years as a commuter on the Lincoln – Nottingham line. The railway opened in 1846 and was the first line into Lincoln, running into St Mark’s station.

Although the modern railway seems somewhat soulless, I have tried to capture some pleasing moments from my many months of commuting.

For a week now I'm struggling around some lakes here in the vicinity to get a good sunset capture and a nice composition. Especially the last one was harder then expected. The sun seemed to be lower than I thought they didn't met the compositions that I've hoped for.

This one is taken after the sun went down, the intensity of the red and blue glow on the horizon really supprised me and I had to desaturate them so it wouldn't look like a painting. I've saturated the grass a bit so it looks some brighter and matches the rest.
