Tonight's moon early in the evening just after sunset. Captured this while taking extra long exposures of the passing clouds at sunset along Middle River. Gave me something fun to do while the other camera was sitting with its shutter open. The sunset colors there in the upper clouds were pretty against the moon as the lower clouds parted to reveal the moon.
End of the day light on the piers and in the clouds over Middle River. Quite the display with the cold front passing by at sunset.
Captured here with the 6 Stop ND.
My sunset capture got blown out, but fortunately for me, the woman in front of me nailed the shot! Now, all I've gotta do is just crop this down some more... ;-)
This cliche image (photographing the photographer) was taken a few years ago in Sedona, Arizona.

Una toma de la puesta de sol de ayer mismo, efectuada desde Chinchilla de Montearagón. El sol asemejaba querer hacer una última demostración de poderío, antes de ocultarse bajo el magno y totalmente plano horizonte de la llanura manchega.

A sunset capture, taken just yesterday from San Blas Hill, in Chinchilla de Montearagón. The sun seemed to want to make one last heroic burst of strength before hiding under the beautiful and totally flat horizon of La Mancha plains.

Boat PE1043,
Sunset captured at Mudeford Quay earlier this year during the first lockdown on one of our daily walks allowed at the time and no tripod.
Still waters with some colourful light.
I just love clouds in my sunsets, capturing one without them is like
food with no seasoning:-)

My daughter joined me for a quick fun photo session at Rocky Point in Baltimore County this evening. She did this despite not feeling 100%. It was a little above freezing, so not too cold (at least for me).
Here is post sunset capture with the streaming clouds coming out of the west over the Chesapeake Bay in this 500 second exposure.
A dreamy sunset captured on one of the last days of summer at Blue Point beach. To be honest summer is usually my least favourite season for photography, however it’s been fairly productive this year overall. The light may be utterly crap most of the time, but I will definitely miss those beautiful long evenings where I can pop out to the beach after work to fulfil my photography needs & temporarily escape the madness of the world. Goodbye summer 👋 ….Hello Autumn

Sometimes simple is enough, this is just a sunset.
Captured by chance as we ended there completely by mistake, having misconfigured our GPS route.
Soft focus sunset with silhouettes. A sunset captured forever for you to enjoy!

My final sky replacement trial used a sunset captured in St Jean de Luz France and mixed with the silhouette of the arch at Newstead Abbey, Nottinghamshire
Captured in: Bass Harbor, ME.
Seen here is another of my sunset captures from the Bass Harbor Head Light, which is located along the rocky cliffs of Bass Harbor, Maine.
This lighthouse was originally constructed in 1876, and is part of Acadia National Park. The light can be found in the Southwest section of the park known as Mount Desert Island, and marks the entrance to Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay.

"Bass Harbor Light" is an HDR image constructed from 6 shots, with a differential of +/- 1 stop.
The resulting HDR image was processed using a combination of ACR, Photomatix, and Photoshop (includes the use of Topaz Labs plugins -- Adjust, Clean, Denoise, Glow, Impression and LensFX).
A sunset capture of Seljalandsfoss from the top of the ground level observation deck. This climb required the use ice cleats as the stairs and railings were completely covered in ice.
Interesting how the light, season, and weather can make new compositions look interesting. The case here taken from one of the piers there in Middle River and looking east back at Wilson Point and the homes all lit up there at sunset.
Captured with the 6 Stop ND to get the extended exposure around 6 seconds smoothing out the breeze on the waves, and getting the pretty muted reflection on the river surface.

After a long day at work I was looking forward to sitting down and resting some while processing some of the weekend sunset captures ... especially on this rainy day in Maryland when I noticed some spotty sunlight around 7:30 this evening. I debated for several minutes if I wanted to head somewhere ... and was about to say no ... when Ms. Krach came home from dinner with a friend and told me to head down and see my dad ... and see what happens.
Glad I listened to her and headed down. As the sunlight was coming through the clouds I could not get through the traffic quick enough (people seem to drive always really SLOW in front of me when near sunset ;))
In any case I made it down to Middle River about 15 minutes before sunset ... and was snapping off some under the pier captures as the tide was really LOW and there was a pretty nice beach there, was when I noticed the incredible rainbow there. Snapped some from the beach, and will process them hopefully tomorrow after work ... but here is the view I took from out on the pier next to my Dad's pier that gives a nice view of the end of Wilson Point. Just happened to be Under the Rainbow perfectly there. Ms. Krach can be right 'every once in a while' ... heck, who am I kidding, she is ALWAYS RIGHT :))
This was captured with the 6 Stop ND to slow the shutter down for around 8 seconds, smoothing out the reflection just a little ... if you look close the sprinkling of rain that was happening while shooting this (and hence the rainbow) can be seen hitting the water making all the small rippled circles there in the extending exposure. Pretty cool effect.
This flag was attached to a rather beautiful boat, but I didn't get any good pics of the boat... lol. I've never really been able to get a good sunset capture, I blame it on living on the east coast. ;o) So here's an "almost" sunset.
I'm back to work today and all weekend, hope the rest of you get some R&R in!!
Happy New year to all who have faved or commented on my pics ,

Another archive photo from St. Martin, this one is a magical sunset captured white on a “Sunset Sail Cruise” just off the coast of the island. Unfortunately, the wonderful old Canadian schooner that we were on was destroyed by a hurricane a few years later. Regardless, Caribbean sunsets just seem a bit special and this one was a keeper.
This is another sunset captured while on Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park, Maine. Eagle Lake can be seen below. (image M1A2548) Please also visit: acadiamagic.com.
