Just living is not enough... one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower..................... Hans Christian Andersen.
Been trying out some black and white conversions on my landscape pics. This was an autumn, back-lit tree shot that seemed to lend itself to a bit of 'infrared' treatment.
Still plenty of colour in the cold winter woods. This spot was slightly warmer than the rest at just above freezing.
A lot of artists seem to give their work really boring names - so I thought I might do the same! Being an artist of sorts.....
An optimist is a person who sees a green light everywhere, while a pessimist sees only the red stoplight... the truly wise person is colorblind.
So said Albert Schweitzer.
For years I wondered who Albert Schweitzer was. I doubt you as the reader did. But I did. But not because I'm weird. You see I lived in Albert Schweitzer Strasse in Lubbecke, Germany. I left it more than 50 years to find out who he was. Apparently he received the 1952 Nobel Peace Prize for his philosophy of “Reverence for Life". That got my interest and I decided to try and read it, but I struggled with it as it is quite hard going and sounds like it was written by a German.

Came in early from the park one evening and decided to take a drive out the Chief Joseph Highway outside of Cooke City, which is also known as Sunlight Basin. Besides being a beautiful drive, it's also a popular spot to see a variety of wildlife, including moose, bear, and bighorn sheep. We didn't come across anything other than deer along our drive but sure enjoyed the views along the way. It rained much of the time, but the clouds parted just long enough to let a little sunshine through on this scene.
Happy Hump Day!!!
"don't worry about a thing,
'cause every little thing gonna be all right.
singin': "don't worry about a thing,
'cause every little thing gonna be all right!"
Rise up this mornin',
smiled with the risin' sun,

This is the exterior slopped ceiling of the “Cardboard Cathedral” photographed from the outside looking west and the setting sun naturally illuminates the structure.
The facility is made from shipping containers, cardboard tubes, timber stained glass and steel. The roof (pictured here) is made of polycarbonate. This is a temporary structure while the original cathedral is repaired following the 2011 earthquake.
