Sun Theater, 3627 Grandel Square, St. Louis

Originally opened as the Victoria Theater, 1913, designed by the firm of Widdmann & Walsh. Currently closed.

Practicing with sun flare - much easier than I thought, but still need to work on my exposure so that my foreground is not underexposed as in this picture.

This is the sun not the moon. It was not raining or storming.

In Ilvesheim there is a field where you can cut flowers by yourself to make others happy. Part of this field are the sun flower fields where i was able to take some pictures. this sun flower is not the best but it looks great enough I think :)

Castle Bytham 3.45pm

South and east walls of the Sun-FM building in Penticton, BC.

I seem to recall this as being a sculpture outside Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I took the photo sometime around 1985 with my Nikon FM on slide film. I scanned it to digital in 2018 with an Epson V850 Pro.

Found this bright red industrial building off Southwest Blvd (near the Roasterie's airplane), in Kansas City, MO.

I bought those on a class trip 8 yrs ago - in Italy. Actually I don't think they suit me...but I still like them :D

The Sun has been very busy lately, as it has emitted several X-class flares in recent weeks. These have been causing some nice Aurora as the solar winds are deflected toward our polar regions. The large sunspot area on the upper right of the Sun has been responsible for a lot of that activity.

Sun 07.08.15; White-light image captured with a 100mm f5 Helios refractor and vesta pro webcam. Motorised EQ1 Mount and Baader solar filter.

 

DIY focal reducer made from a 30mm achromatic lens (10mm field stop added).

 

Clear sky.

The lower smoke haze is from the forest fire on Mt Hood to the north .
