I seem to recall this as being a sculpture outside Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I took the photo sometime around 1985 with my Nikon FM on slide film. I scanned it to digital in 2018 with an Epson V850 Pro.

Our lovely sun and moon art we bought in Atlanta at the Dogwood festival a few years ago. Hangs on the patio wall now and makes beautiful shadows. These shadows were artificially created using handheld SB600 fired via CLS from D7000.
The Sun has been very busy lately, as it has emitted several X-class flares in recent weeks. These have been causing some nice Aurora as the solar winds are deflected toward our polar regions. The large sunspot area on the upper right of the Sun has been responsible for a lot of that activity.

So sharp it is said that a single 35mm frame is equivalent to 500MP.
AMAZING resolution, if you can handle the film!
Here it is in all its glory, and I wish I had shot it with a different camera. Next time I'm using a Canon EOS or my T90.

Seen over Kolkata, West Bengal on 30 April, 2016 between 12:10 and 12:40 pm. A Variable ND filter was also used, set to about 4 stops. Thanks to SS for letting me this was happening, so that I could take the shot.
The 22° halo of the Sun, or ocassionally the moon, it is also called a moon ring or winter halo. It occurs when the light rays get refracted through the hexagonal ice crystals present in cirrus clouds.
"...when sunlight passes through them, refracting the light twice - once at the point of entry and again at the exit. The deviation is 22° and hence, the name."
