I seem to recall this as being a sculpture outside Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. I took the photo sometime around 1985 with my Nikon FM on slide film. I scanned it to digital in 2018 with an Epson V850 Pro.

Found this bright red industrial building off Southwest Blvd (near the Roasterie's airplane), in Kansas City, MO.

The poet judges not as a judge judges but as the sun falling around a helpless thing.

I bought those on a class trip 8 yrs ago - in Italy. Actually I don't think they suit me...but I still like them :D

[Inspired by remo]

The Sun has been very busy lately, as it has emitted several X-class flares in recent weeks. These have been causing some nice Aurora as the solar winds are deflected toward our polar regions. The large sunspot area on the upper right of the Sun has been responsible for a lot of that activity.

Clear sky.

The lower smoke haze is from the forest fire on Mt Hood to the north .

I'm now fully resigned to the fact that this sort of thing will be as close to a sunset picture I'll ever get without traveling a fair distance....Sigh!

punta gallinas

This is exactly how I saw it at 30 ft below, the purple color doesn't alway come out like this. This is about 3 ~ 4 ft in diameter tip to tip and moving very quickly !!

No clouds here... just lots of smoke... maybe someday it'll rain again...

(The smoke got really bad after dark. For a while it was so bad that it you went outside for a little while it would make your eyes burn and irritate your throat. Later when I went for a drive I could see some light ash falling & blowing around. A few hours later another front came through from the north and cleared the smoke out pretty good tho...)

Now THAT was worth getting up for...

Craptacular photo quality, I know, but- meh. Whatcha gonna do.
