You know its going to be a good for storm photography / videography....year when the very first pics of 2019 was a funnel cloud!
We had no warnings but there was plenty of rotation on these cells. 2 couplets formed just to my south as pouring rain was making my first chase a little bit to almost impossible to get any captures without getting soaking wet. New equipment this year so I'm being cautious not to get things wet....

Remastered Series.
Another Freak Picturesque Nebraska July Thunderstorm. A True Photographic Storm Monster. Wicked good striations, and the scuds on the bottom of the outflow line looked like teeth.
Another Classic Outflow Dominate Nebraska Thunderstorm! 2011 Month of July has simply been over the top for storm photography. This was one of my best sets for the year.
Just to note...
My old Nikon D50 had some major issues.
Internal Lens was dirty.
It had been knocked over by the wind several times.
Had some permanent internal flares.
Tons of noise in the original captures. A few are little blurry due to the 45-50+ mph outflow winds. I couldn't keep the camera steady. Every pic here was worth it though!
It took long time to rework these images....

Malibu Seacave Milkyway Rise Fine Art Landscape Photography: Elliot McGucken Fine Art Long Exposure Night Landscapes Astro Photography!
Shot it with both the Sony A7RII And Nikon D810! Which do you think is better?
The milkyway as seen from a Malibu sea cave at low tide! This cave can get a lot of water, and one can actually get trapped if the tide rises too far while you're in there! Especially if the waves are big! And trying to navigate your way out in the dark over slippery hidden rocks and waves can be tough! Saltwater is no friend to Nikon D810s nor Sony A7RIIs! :)

I subscribe to Popular Photography and this month they had an article on Magda Wasiczek. She is a nature/flower photographer who creates amazing work. I have looked her up since and she is very talented. I have been drawn to single flowers but her work is much broader. A little inspired ... I was trying to see beyond a single flower and look at the grander space.

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Sports Photography With New Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon!

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!
What a beautiful way to test the Nikon D810 and Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens for sports photography!

Over a month off from any type of photography or videography. I did go out a few times though my wife was super strict after I got out of the Hospital. I sure didn't want to go back... I had to sneak out... shhhh don't tell her. I'll post a few of those later... there's not many...
Now my body was on the mend, believe me when I say I was super sick. I was. The 2018 storm season was almost over... We have this little window of opportunity the last week of August till the end of September where we have that peak of severe weather. Just the opposite of spring.
I was not allowed to chase but this was close and I got some incredible snaps!!!

Gurez or Gurais is a valley located in the high Himalayas, about 86 kilometres from Bandipore and 123 kilometres from Srinagar in northern Kashmir, India and south of Gilgit-Baltistan. At about 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above sea level, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
Dawar, located on the banks of the Kishenganga River is the central township in the area. Due to heavy snowfall in winter, ( approx. 6-7 ft ) the valley remains cut off from the rest of Kashmir for six months of a year. The place is famous for world class trouts with an average weight of 24 pounds.

Though this storm did have severe warnings on it and it had better structure to is before I got on this storm to the north of Elm Creek Nebraska. I did end up underneath this cell but it was already loosing her steam.
This storm cell was still warned and producing 2 inch hail. I would stay to the southwest of this so I would have a really good view on the rear flank.

Warnings were still in warning in effect. Especially for hail. 2" Hail was being reported now in Odessa (where I just was). I had to move north to still be able to view this storms approach from the south. Ended up just to the northeast of Amherst Nebraska.
Impressive Hail, Rain Core was approaching fast from the due south.

Gurez or Gurais is a valley located in the high Himalayas, about 86 kilometres from Bandipore and 123 kilometres from Srinagar in northern Kashmir, India and south of Gilgit-Baltistan. At about 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above sea level, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.
Dawar, located on the banks of the Kishenganga River is the central township in the area. Due to heavy snowfall in winter, ( approx. 6-7 ft ) the valley remains cut off from the rest of Kashmir for six months of a year. The place is famous for world class trouts with an average weight of 24 pounds.
