Finally, after a 4 1/2 drive, I was in the severe risk, or moderate zone. @ Hwy 365 North Junction, a few miles north I pulled off to get these snaps of this developing cell that would turn into the Wray Tornado that afternoon.
I truly thought I had missed the game and I was feeling pretty depressed until I saw this.... This supercell already had rotation in it and I know from all the chases over the past 20 years of chasing... the last cell to develop will be the one to watch... even if there were other cells that day that were producing tornadoes.
We had all the right ingredients for this one to work her magic. I just had to position myself to get the best shots possible....

Greetings Everyone, I haven't posted many new pics since last chase season and the 2020 Severe Weather Season is upon us. Looking for our first set of storms in the coming weeks and I'll be streaming live and of course some of the best storm photography one could ask for.
2020 Update...I've been revamping how I do things. One of those things is to go back and correct how I did my post processing of images. Several Years of over Colorizing over Saturation Adding color... etc. Yes I'm guilty of doing so and I have been going back and replacing thousands of images in hundreds of sets over these past few months here on Flickr my Fine Arts America Site.
The May 7, 2016 Colorado Tornado Event was by far one of my favorite chase days to date. I was able to capture the full genesis of a tornado. From birth to death. It was a quest of mine to do this in a photography medium. Epic severe weather structure, like once in a lifetime structure to capture. But post processing was a nightmare. The images came out well ... Defined but over colored over saturated etc.
Instead of replacing the images this will be a whole new set with a few hundred new images that I didn't post on the original set back in 2016. I've thought about re-editing these images for a long time and they are finally done. No Altercations what so ever. No Added Light, Color, Contrast.
I've brought them directly from RAW. Simply the way I should have done it in the first place!

Sinthan top is a mountain pass, a popular tourist destination located between South Kashmir’s Breng Valley (Sub-District Kokernag) in Anantnag district and Kishtwar in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. Most of the part lies on Kishtwar side. The Sinthan pass connects Kashmir valley with Jammu Province through Kistwar. It is 12,500 feet (3,800 m) above sea level and is snow-capped for most of the year.
Like other areas of the valley, Sinthan Top is known for its beauty and wonderful tourist attractions. The place is fast growing as one of the top tourist destination in Kashmir. Around 37 kilometers of snaky and uphill drive from Daksum, it offers an adventurous journey. The spot is emerging for mountaineering, trekking and skiing. Sinthan Top is easily accessible from Srinagar, almost 4–5 hours drive by car. Attractions like Kokernag, Dacksum and Achabal fall en-route that offer tourists varied choice of resting and makes traveling more pleasant and less tiresome.

Another Incredible Nebraska Skyscape. Beautiful July ambient light, against a dying thunderstorm. Nope it's not severe but it's what I do when the light is right. Plus, I was super sick... A few days away from being forced into the hospital. I'm better now, and thankful.. that's a story to come!
I honestly took extra time on these captures. I was using a new filter on my new lens. So no added color or any adjustments to the image in Photoshop on this set. Now I had to bring them through Photoshop from raw... but that's it and of course the pano's are done separately.
Also... I only had one camera...for video that evening. Otherwise you would have seen this first storm cross over and you would have seen some sweet Nebraska thunderstorm views. Just to the east southeast. July Mammatus... these are just as sweet as this video... Just captures though...These have been added to this set.
It seemed the sicker I got, the better the photography I took... It was only about 10 days till I was forced into the hospital. I shouldn't have been out. But you don't get captures like this if you don't go try to catch them...
I was sick but had a blast, and what I caught was just Awesome!

Rinpung Dzong is a large dzong - Buddhist monastery and fortress - of the Drukpa Lineage of the Kagyu school in Paro District, Bhutan. It houses the district Monastic Body and government administrative offices of Paro Dzongkhag. It is listed as a tentative site in Bhutan's Tentative List for UNESCO inclusion.
A great annual festival or tshechu is held at Rinpung Dzong from the eleventh to the fifteenth day of the second month of the traditional Bhutanese lunar calendar (usually in March or April of the Gregorian calendar). On this occasion, holy images are taken in a procession. This is followed by a series of traditional mask dances conveying religious stories which are performed by monks for several days.
