Mid October... 2023

Final Chase Day at hand for 2023....

Warm and with SPC Active warnings that afternoon of severe weather. Stayed in the South Central Nebraska Hwy 6 Neighborhood.

Some wicked good, or should I say fantastic views of the out waves of moisture to mix in with spookiness of October. Late season supercells along the dryline were forming & I had to get underneath! You know for the view that are contained within! Oh I got my share that day.

Not to spoil the fun... No Tornado that day.. or at least I didn't see it. Came over the 2 way that the was one on the ground exactly where my cameras was pointed... however bad positing on my part. If it was there I didn't physically see it. It doesn't mean it wasn't there...

The active warning for the Tornado didn't fire off on my alarm till I was already due east of Minden Nebraska. Didn't have the best plan for attack here. I knew it was coming but where I deiced to park wasn't the best viewing position. When that alarm goes off & didn't have the best road network to navigate though the city or around the city of Minden. So I decide to stay put since it was already heading my way.

Sometimes this is a good decision, that day it wasn't. I had played this day out a little to shy & got caught with just an outflow dominate storm that afternoon after the Tornado Warning.

It was a Fun way to end the 2023 Chase Season... Can't Wait for 2024!

The Warwan Valley is a riverine Himalayan sub-valley and a tehsil in Kishtwar District in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The Valley lies 68 kilometres northeast of Kishtwar and 150 kilometres from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

The valley remains cut off for about six or seven months every year due to heavy snowfall and is only accessible for the remaining months through the Margan Pass (3700 m). The Marau river which originates from the nearby Nun Kun glacier in Zanskar flows through the picturesque valley and is famous for trouts.

Dal is a lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The urban lake, which is the second largest in the state, is integral to tourism and recreation in Kashmir and is named the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir" or "Srinagar's Jewel".

Scenic views of the lake can be witnessed from the shore line Mughal gardens, such as Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir and from houseboats cruising along the lake in the colourful shikaras.

Early June 2026

Exactly what the title states... I felt I was jinxed that evening. Every time I got close it would die off. Nice structure, good development. But it was not to be. It happens sometimes...

A few good opportunities but you had to know where to look. That part I have covered. Took advantage of what was viable for this set of images.

Changed position to the other side of the city. Now on the far east side of the city as the storm have moved a bit south & to the east of my previous location. Again this storm was supposed to move directly over my location but it had other plans.

Final shots of that night... it was super late. I was tired. But I stuck around til the storm faded...

Mulkarkha Lake is a natural lake tucked in a remote corner of the forests of the Himalayan foothills of Northern Bengal, India. The most fascinating feature of this lake is the reflection of Mt. Kanchenjungha (the 3rd highest peak in the world) on its tranquil waters. The trek route to Mulkarkha Lake is one of the most exciting and untouched trails of the Himalayan foothills.

These are truly My Best Lightning Captures to date!

An epic night of sunset light and storm light @ twilight. Its almost every storm chasers dreams... or at least, in my own opinion, to get along side of a storm like this, as its firing away some incredible CC & CG every few seconds. What more could you ask for...

I was that Lucky Gut that evening. Just mother nature and I. Close to home after a few long storm chasing jaunts is just fine by me. She was producing and I was capturing every incredible second of this storm.. No Forking Bolt went away that evening without me getting a snap of its presence.. lol

The Sivasamudram Falls is on the Kaveri River after the river has found its way through the rocks and ravines of the Deccan Plateau and drops off to form waterfalls. The island town of Sivasamudram divides the river into twin waterfalls. The western branch results in the twin waterfalls of Gaganachukki, whereas the eastern branch results in the Bharachukki falls.

This is a segmented waterfall.

Leh is a Himalayan high-desert city in the Leh district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir at an altitude of over 3500 m ( 11490 feet ) above sea level.

It was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, the seat of which was in the Leh Palace, the former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh, built in the same style and about the same time as the Potala Palace in Tibet - the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamshala, India, during the 1959 Tibetan uprising.

Originally a stop for trading caravans, Leh is now known for its Buddhist sites and breathtaking natural beauty.

Gurez or Gurais is a valley located in the high Himalayas, about 86 kilometres from Bandipore and 123 kilometres from Srinagar in northern Kashmir, India and south of Gilgit-Baltistan. At about 8,000 feet (2,400 m) above sea level, the valley is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Dawar, located on the banks of the Kishenganga River is the central township in the area. Due to heavy snowfall in winter, ( approx. 6-7 ft ) the valley remains cut off from the rest of Kashmir for six months of a year.

This photograph was shot during a chopper ride from Srinagar to Dawar, the central township of Gurez Valley.

Pangong Tso, Tibetan for "high grassland lake", also referred to as Pangong Lake, is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m (14,270 ft). It is 134 km (83 mi) long and extends from India to China. Approximately 40% of the length of the lake lies in India. The lake is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide at its broadest point. During winter the lake freezes completely, despite being saline water.

Pangong Tso can be reached in a five-hour drive from Leh, most of it on a rough and dramatic mountain road. The road crosses the villages of Shey and Sakti and traverses the Chang La, where army sentries and a small teahouse greet visitors. The road down from Chang La leads through Tangste and other smaller villages, crossing a river called Pagal Naala or "The Crazy Stream". The spectacular lakeside is open during the tourist season, from May to September.
