Random stuff on the printer.

One of the many stuff / junk collections in our barn. This one just happens to be close to an old window that always has amazing late afternoon light due to it's western exposure...

One mans junk is another mans stuff

A rather crusty Ford Model BB truck is seen sitting in a shed at Heritage Acres in Saanich, BC. Surrounding it are "treasures" that may best be defined as "stuff."

Jungspunde pappsatt

A male Lyrebird, doing his level best to convince a lady LB that he's pretty hot stuff. Pitch-perfect impersonations, the mysterious fan dance and endless attention - what girl could resist?

Seen on a big day around the tracks with Bors, visiting from Victoria.

Here's a great video from Bill with more on Lyrebirds

The sun wanted to rise but the fog didn't want to leave.

The mist was refusing to split the night and to disturb the sound of silence.

Or maybe I was still dreaming...

It was at dawn at Dashaswamedh (Main) Ghat in Varanasi (Benaras).

When I was in Tokyo, I had a great time out with Altus! He stayed with me here in Austin, and we were able to meet up for a fun time of photography out in Tokyo. That's one of the BEST things about having a blog, I must say! It gives me the chance to meet all kinds of nice people like YOU that extend gracious invitations for photography!

After dark, Altus took me to this cool restaurant. The manager was very nice and let us sit where we wanted and then a carte-blanche for taking photos. He asked if I would send him photos and if I charge... and I told him no... I do this stuff for fun! So, we have a smart and well-movied community here - who can tell me the name of this restaurant?

Peachpit definitely has the sample from my book up on their website now. Just click on "Sample Content" and you'll be in good shape. There are some very good tips just in that 20 pages! :)

It was sold as a white fox, but we consider it a stuffed Sammy.

Wanted to show my friends in South Africa the atmosphere of a snow day in the forest. Wish I could also let them experience the sounds...best I can do is "Stuff your ears with cotton wool while you look at this"

Well, there is sand and there is, well, stuff ;-)

Stem removed, brushed with a marinade of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, crushed garlic, Dijon mustard, and Maggi, seasoned with salt & freshly ground pepper.

'Stuffed' (added on top) with finely sliced (fingernail sized) and sautéed baby zucchini, baby eggplant on onion and garlic, finely diced beetroot (steamed until tender before adding), the stems diced and sautéed with the rest, black quinoa (cooked, of course), the whole mixed up with olive oil, a bit of finely diced tomato.

Top with grated cheese (I used cheddar, but parmesan would do nicely, too), a good sprinkle of smokey paprika, and baked for ±20 minutes in the microwave at microwave 2, convection 180°.

The mushroom should come out tender and juicy, the cheese creamily melted and slightly browned.

Sprinkle some freshly-diced parsley over the top and serve...

Fine piece of 'steak'!
