A shorter scale of time than the prior studies: glints, ripples, the setting sun (reflection), pond grasses, shifting collections of detritus, and that decaying log with the etched patterns of years in its bark. Compositionally, I wanted the broad ripples (top half of image) and the log and underwater debris (bottom half); the result is almost two images mated together, so the visual flow may feel a little "off" or disjointed.
Use the Flickr zoom tool to examine the log weathering patterns and underwater debris in detail (this D7500 is a big improvement over my old D90 as far as what I am able to capture that can hold up under magnification.)

Winter is providing a rare combination of about 2 feet of snow, and temperatures remaining below freezing now for about a week with extremes of 1 degree F
Thus, Icicles grow and stick to the roof for awhile, allowing close up studies.
And the patterns are very similar

Big and small squirrel mops. Real extremes - size 10 and size 0
French ultramarine, burnt and raw umber, opera.
Time: 10 minutes
There is an explanation for 10 minutes folks - I was blowing my top at my son and giving him a time out. I believe, overriding emotions is sometimes good, it makes your hand move faster!

Complete title is Study of a Female Head for the Kneeling Woman in The Transfiguration, 1519-20. The original is in black and white chalk. Nice exercise in using shading to produce volume, in the hair and the muscles. Quite the muscles, btw.

Just a trial shot from the open window of my study. The prominent tree is nearly 200 yards away. The break in the hedge is the site of a badger sett!
I had to try to get my rescued 35mm slide projector lens to focus at infinity. This photo is my first attempt with the lens hand held against the camera body whilst I tried to balance against the window. To say I was pleased is a bit of an understatement.
However I've spent a couple of hours this afternoon trying to get a permanent fixing to the camera and then the focus just right. The lens has no focusing along its barrel. I'm not quite there yet so tomorrow .....
