I took this photo with a split second I saw my husband turn the page of this photo magazine. I had a camera beside me. Till now I still don't know why I took it, but I like it. It's talking to me.
Not quite one of the old Silk Cut adverts, but searching for inspiration this evening, the reel of purple cotton fell into my view and I quickly gathered other things to make a "scene"

A little study I am doing on different granny square type patterns. This is just a very few of the patterns that I have collected. I can't wait to do more.

Again this is a simple eye study. I am just trying to develop my skills before I tackle a full portrait. I am not happy with the finished outcome, it is not how I imagined but after 4 months I needed to move on to the next challenge. My Nana has remarkably beautiful eyes, so I could not resist drawing them. The materials used were Faber Castell pencils, Derwent pencils, soft pastels, Charcoal, white and black gel pens. This resulted in an A4 portrait.
IPhone Quality photograph, so terrible quality.

For much of the 20th century, Duke freshmen had to wear dinks (first a beanie and later a floppy hat) and women a yellow bow. If Duke won the annual Duke-UNC football game, the freshmen and women could discard the bow. However if Duke lost, the bow had to be worn until the end of the first semester.

This is a study of different drawing techniques, as well as grading varients. This is also the origin of my "Rat". The model I used to draw the pointelism eye is of the famed singer Madonna.
For Macro Mondays "Resolution".
After a few trips to China, I decided to learn some of the language. As time progresses, I reach for the books less and less. I'll get back on it in 2009 (maybe).
