iss073e1046752 (Oct. 31, 2025) --- NASA astronaut and Expedition 73 Flight Engineer Mike Fincke conducts research operations inside the Life Science Glovebox aboard the International Space Station’s Kibo laboratory module. Fincke was assisting scientists in studying the behavior, growth, and differentiation of stem cells, and how they can be converted into brain or heart cells in microgravity. The results could lead to advancements in crew health monitoring and drug manufacturing in space, as well as new treatments for heart and neurodegenerative diseases on Earth.

Yet again „the walk“, I guess you know every single tree as well as I do right now ... BUT: I tried few things with the rendering, both while taking the shots and when processing them. When shooting I used a Kenko Nostaltone Orange, which is basically a diffusor and warming filter combined. That's where the color and softness comes from. I used a zoom lens all the way open, which gives vignette and fall off and a bit of additional softness. when proscessing them in LR and PS I payed attention to „fill the highlights with color“ and control the highlights in general. There was a beautiful „soft sunshine“ today (partially cloudy), and the light was so nice I hope I could capture that a little bit at least.

Read that this month's 2009/365 theme was THROUGH THE WINDOWS AND DOORS OF OUR LIVES so just pointed camera at the window to show what I see when I sit at my desk!
So, I was studying for my Organic Chemistry test this weekend, and I had insomnia. It was about 5 A.M., I had Organic books, notes, flashcards, sample test problems, and little plastic molecules scattered all over the table. My brain was fried and I couldn't sleep, so, I made these to pass the time.

These Field Studies Council publications are brilliant for quick reference in the field as they weigh nothing and are waterproof.
They are also terrific for interesting children and newcomers to nature.
