William (Bill) White III, retired BLM Physical Scientist, and a team of BLMers used a mud auger to drill salt core samples for salt thickness study. This methodology was used by Bill in 1988 and again in 2003 for salt thickness measurements that occur every 15 years. Bill chose to drill these cores next to holes previously made by the University of Utah's sonic drill with the intention of comparing his results and older methods to the University of Utah results with their new methods.

In Moscow. Yes, the two heads in the corner were not intentional, but that's the little surprise I like about this photo.

British Army Pvt. Richard Ampong, 1st Medical Regiment, studies for the U.S. Army Europe Expert Field Medical Badge before taking on one of the first lanes in Grafenwoehr, Germany, Sept. 16. The USAREUR EFMB provides multinational and U.S. service members with common standards and objectives for treating the sick and wounded and improves communication among the frontline medical professionals fighting together today. As coalition forces gain greater shared understanding, they are more competent and confident in their abilities, and that adds up to lives saved in combat. (photo by Sgt. There are monks everywhere in Cambodia, and, at least for me, it's hard to think of them as students. I chatted for a few minutes with this guy as he wanted to practice is English, he was attending school in the Wat.

To give Johanna some time to get things done, I took our daughter for a little trip to the pier. Although she slept firmly from the moment we walked out of the subway station, this gave me the opportunity to take a few pictures. Some spectacular, dark clouds and bright sunshine promised to give some nice scenic pictures, but in the end, I was more happy with this.

IBA - Institute of Business Administration, City Campus, Karachi, Pakistan.

At the time I was at IBA - Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, Pakistan, it was afternoon, the light being very harsh but at the same time creating interesting shadows and patterns. This attracted me to first time turn on the “Noir” effect on my cellphone and shoot these.

I found it quite easy as I could view it in monochrome. I always say doing black and white on film is very difficult.

Two young trees in our yard. I used Derwent pencils...I am trying to find a few good green combos, I do like to mix them so they are not so green, mixed more like the real nature greens. One of the best benefits of painting it that you really see. You see so much more detail when you really look. I appreciate viewing anything so much more then I did ten years ago. I am thankful for that gift. Oh well. This is strathmore 400 series, I actually think I like it. 5" x 7"

A study I did in PS from a photo I took at Dr. Sketchy. Working on my digital painting skills. Never got around to finishing so I guess I should just post what I have.
