Late yesterday afternoon we were out at White Sands National Monument, where occasional gusts of wind created white-out conditions.
This is my writing desk where I do my studies for my Masters Degree. My grandfather built this fold up desk, and I inherited it when my mum passed away. It's one of my more treasured possessions.

Pencil studies of various British waterfowl, the one exception being the Chough, a member of the Corvid (crow) family that favours a coastal habitat. The main aim of this series of sketches was inspired because I like to include wildlife especially bird's in my landscapes paintings, and wished to improve my depiction of them.
Many are drawn from my own photographs, some made using the high speed facility on my camera.

white-ish belly/ breast distinguishes from most common Sooty Shearwater & ?more? common Short-tailed Shearwater

This "Ribbing" pattern of colouration in underwing seems to be diagnostic amongst shearwaters for PFSH... at least in the limited photo reviews i have done
But Sibley's shows a darker and a lighter
& yeah..has pink feet
but good luck always seeing that as they whip by
the image is so backlit that bill colouration is not usefully viewable
