for my studio lighting class we had a project on commercial portraiture, and we had to include a self portrait. my entire project was based on emotion, and so for my self portrait i had a friend talk to me as i stood in front of the camera and he took pictures throughout our conversation to capture my different facial expressions and emotions.
The Carte de Visite
A carte de visite, on the back of which is printed:

The photograph is tiny - it is only 2 centimetres tall and is framed by an oval cut out of the card.
There are no indications as to the identity of the lady, or the date of the photograph.
Beads, yarns, embellishments, rulers, etc. They're all stored beneath my work table in labeled bins.

Clive C Pearson was born 1947. He established Hartland Pottery at his workshop in 1972 before moving to Hartland, Bideford, Devon in 1981. He made domestic and decorative reduced stoneware with Jun glazes. From 1992 Clive C Pearson also ran Clovelly Pottery, Clovelly, Devon (in 1997 he was still running both potteries)

It just hit me—a big space to exhibit, the brief to use the new Nokia Pure font and a Finnish company.
Why not do an installation with ‘PURE’ white Alvar Alto 60 stools, a classic Finnish design icon, using the new ‘PURE’ Nokia font and my play on the word ‘PURE’.

I picked up some very cheap studio lights on eBay the other day. They came with a couple of shades with an interesting texture, so I used them to try out the lights.

This photograph for the studio portraiture project used high-key lighting to create an intense look, the model is staring to the side with her hand placed on her neck. We used a fan to blow her hair which created a dramatic photograph.
My photo studio shares space with my drum set. Shot with 3 SB-800s, 2 w/umbrellas and one behind throne. Activated with Yongnuo 603s.
