Johnny O has been my friend for 5 years going on 6. He visits our home every week to play guitar and chat.
Today he was surprised to learn I have cameras and strobes, so out of curiousity we went down and shot some pics for his mom and dad.
John goes through lots of moods when he plays...and I'm attempting to capture those while not forgetting to watch the lights, focus etc.
John is in his mid-30s but he will always be young of heart & mind. Some call it a handicap and he just sees it as life.

Took me ages to set this flash up again grrrr, every time you turn it off the setting go,
Then to top it all something must have stopped the signal as had to have it fairly near the camera to fire it
worked fine when i tested the distance in the garden
The only thing worse than people poaching your flashes is people with point and shoots poaching your flashes. The way I thought my SB-800's work is that the optical trigger has to be on in order to sync them with pocketwizards. So that's fine, I'll just tape them up with gaffers tape. Which led to a solid hour of frustration as little kids with compact digi's fired my strobes over and over again. And at the worst possible times. Unfortunately, I realized after the fact that I could turn SU-4 mode off.
Strobist info: Two SB-800s, 1/4th power, in both corners of this side of the gym. ~70mm zoom fired with pocketwizards. Nikon D200 and 80mm F/1.8.
My first attempt at shooting with an off camera ‘slave flash’ bounced off the ceiling synched with the camera’s onboard controller. Indoors, with ceiling lights switched off (to avoid shadows), some daylight from windows. Here Tigest's face is facing towards the flash - which is positioned behind and to the left side of me.
I think I may just have got the strobist bug.
