This is my first strobe setting, and i am recording it so that i would remember the next time :D (Idea by Guru Dustin Diaz...)
The setup was like this, In my dark hall, I kept my 1 $ strobe at the bottom, fitted with 100W filament bulb. Camera 5 feet away.
My Battery gave out, so shot in W700i. Forgive the quality.
A shot from an engagement session last week. Strobe info; miniTT1 with 430ex flash on camera, flexTT5 with 430ex II behind subjects along the wall.
So I bought a little 20 Watt strobe light. I was hoping it would come in use for some photography but I seriously don't know what to do with it. Moving subjects against a still background makes the background stand out because of it's exposure. I don't know. We'll see.

We got a set of inexpensive lights today, set 'em up and did some tests. The pictures came out alright, but the lights turned out to be useless for professional work due to other technical shortcomings. In this example: D&D Miniatures.
Note the little pigtail + hotshoes being stored on the strobes themselves. Those used to live on my light stnads, but this way they are much better protected. A Maha 8x AA charger and power supply provides plenty of on-location juice. Sync cables and a pack of gels live in here as well.
I need to pick up a couple of those little softboxes that Rachel has. They totally rock for macro.
