Had a Photoshop class with Tim Buerger the other day.
Worked on some of the photos I did in a previous strobe lesson in Minato Mirai, Yokohama. Now it feels like the lesson is complete... from the shooting to the post-production.
I was never a huge fan of flashes and non-natural light but I really like the results of this class... time to practice!

Strobist: 1 SB24 (snooted) for the backlight, and another snooted SB24 for the front. The lightsaber was not photoshopped.
after a few postponed session with my fellow noise...we finally set a location to have our photoshoot (with the absence of mir :-( )
the 1st 20mins was such a headache since i was careless enuf to forgot to bring my tripod-innocently thinking that we had sufficient light..but at last i manage to come up with these of shots and 'wowed' myself..hehehe..mestila sronok dapat techq baru!
hopefully gona have another session with mir being together with 4 of us :)
I've been a member of a photography forum - talkphotography for a few years now. There is a little project where we have a theme each week to take a photo of so over the coming year expect to see some random photos on here.
This weeks theme is accomodation. I've not managed to get out during daylight hours this week so ended up taking a photo of my fish tank. It's a loose take on the theme of accomodation, it would be fair to say that it is where my fish live though!
I used a flashgun off camera to the left of the tank set on strobe setting to get the effect of motion...well staggered motion.
Strobist info: SB-28 @ 1/4 shoot through an umbrella at camera right, waterproofed with a plastic bag. And a Metz 58Af-1 @ 1/16 zoomed at 85mm behind the subject. Triggered with Cactus V2s.
Camera: Olympus E-30 with ZD 12-60
When I bought the 40D, I bought the 40D Pro Kit (40D, Battery grip, EF-S 17-85mm F3.5-5.6, extra battery and bag). I did the math and realized that assuming I can sell the lens on Craigslist, the battery grip and extra battery comes out to about $50 and I can probably get $20 for the bag.
I'm glad I never got around to selling the bag though. It makes for a great "lighting essentials" bag. Usually 2 strobes live in it, but it'll accomodate 4 comfortably (a 580EX borrowed from Rachel and a 430EX borrowed from DaveM).
